Cawila ran a cool little event the other day (creatures coming out in the baths of the last stand). (THANKS BY THE WAY!)

I guess it was intended for the low lvl pcs that were the only ones on, and then i logged on with Dalman, and a pc asked me to come along. I thought "righto, DM will ajust difficulty if i join", so i said ok.

Now i'm wondering how the dm crew feels about a high lvl pc joining lowbyes on small quest like these.

Should i find a simple excuse to pass, or is it ok to join?

Just do whatever is in character, unless a DM specifies before the quest it is for a target level range. It sounds like you handled things fine.
