Letter to the Town Council

Herschel Huygens Last Stand Inn, Bresley Boulevard, Sanctuary

    Ches 10th, Year 152, 1375

Sanctuary Council Town Hall, Bresley Boulevard, Sanctuary

    Honourable Council members,

The Sanctuary Library was founded in agreement with the Council to promote the free exchange and pursuit of learning, through the propogation of literature. However, aside from accepting submissions from aspiring authors, little has been done to further that end. And now, with the death of the previous caretaker, the library has stagnated entirely.

I, as a monk of the Cardemine order, in the service of holy Deneir, wish to take over the deed to the institution, under the same terms the previous deed stipulates. My purpose is to promote learning and literacy among Sanctuary's citizens, many of whom, as escaped slaves, have had little exposure to such, and to gather or commission works of interest from various parties, in order to further the base of understanding and knowledge with which this settlement is built.

Learning is one of the only resources Sanctuary can produce herself, and it's a great travesty that the library has been without a caretaker for even a day. While the Council is doubtlessly dealing with pressing issues of security, I would submit that without literature and learning, many of the pillars of Sanctuary's defense, such as animatrons, would not be available to us, and thusly the issue of caretaker is of great importance. I hope you will expediently arrange for the signing and turning over of the deed. I will be looking for one of your number to discuss the issue in person.

    Herschel Huygens

We are indeed looking for a new librarian. Please come visit me sometime.

Councilor Dentra

((Just send me a tell IG or a message via sending system and I'll make myself available.))

Mister Huygens,

it is with pleasure that I receive an application about the post from someone who seems to be so eloquent and well-read. Thus, after this good first impressions; when I have the time to spare, I would like to meet with you to hear more about this, and you shall be considered.

With regards,

Mister Huygens,

Your application is still being debated. We will let you know one way or the other sometime soon.

-Ambassador Rook

Honourable Council members,

The library sits relatively unused, dust gathering on the stacks. It's tragic that this continues, when I at least, if no-one else in Sanctuary, am willing to take up the mantle of caretaker. I am told there's little debate on the matter of turning over the position and library to myself, so I'm curious as to the source of the delay. If there's some snag, or concern, I'd encourage you to contact me as soon as possible so it can be worked out. If however, there's nothing of that sort holding up the process, I pray you will quickly and efficiently sign the paperwork with me, so that learning may once again progress in full.

Herschel Huygens

Mister Huygens,

I personally thank you for your patience. We are appreciating your efforts, and your concerns are important to us.

Naturally, I will try to push this a little bit, you should hopefully hear from us about this soon.

Sincerely yours,

-Paige M. Saint

Mister Huygens,
