Corporal Brinson, Watchhouse

Corporal,

We thought we had learned to live together, in relative peace, and harmony. Things have been quite smooth as of late. House Montezzi has been very VERY generous in letting folk apologize and walk away. We have been very careful, never to be to harsh in the application of our laws.

Yet I hear tells of a day of lawlessness in our streets. Tales of a party of your men striking down our guardsmen, of uniformed watchmen attempting to enter into our streets, of blades drawn and helms on heads.

I wish your story of the events that took place. Without your side of the story, as it stands now I am about half a hair from ordering those who struck at our men in our streets hunted down and put on trial.

Best Regards,

Lord Lemalian

Semaj Lemalian,

It seems that hair of yours was too easily brushed away. You wished to wait for my answer, yet you demanded both me and Bolgar transfered when the opportunity presented itself. Either you request, or you ask for more information. Doing both won't help your stance.

Rumours have a way of exaggerating, twisting themselves into half truths. There was battle on your territory, but I suggest you get it more clearly what happened. Bolgar gathered a group to hunt Chosen and Orcs. When the group descended into Lower, he was assaulted by the half-orc Pergulash, who struck him down. Another of our group was subdued as well, and this made the Associate leap to the defense of the group. Your guard Bert then engaged the battle by striking the Associate, who was later subdued as well. When the first dust had settled, I attempted to get a clear view of the situation. The half-orc, of your house, confessed that he had struck Bolgar down. Things were going in the right direction, with me trying to get everyone back up as this clearly needed to be talked through, but your guard Bert refused to let the Associate walk with me to Upper. I requested this several times. For this, the Associate was burnt by a flame device from your guard. Your guard then murdered the Associate, and it is when I saw this coming I entered the battle myself. Bert fled deeper into Lower and Pergulash struck me. The half-orc was subdued, and no other harm was brought him. Soon afterwards we left Lower.

If House Montezzi's generosity consists of burning people on the ground, I can see why most people won't apologize for their actions. Your guardsman Bert is wanted for the murder of the Associate, and I hope you will hand him over sometime during the next two and a half cycle. I expect the goblin Ghyrrt to be handed over in the near time afterwards. Your concern of helmeted and weapon wielding members of my group is noted, but people rarely leaves their weapon sheathed when confronted by someone harming their fellows.

If you wish to make demands that somehow are related to me, do so to my face.

Cpl. Brinson

Corporal,

The demand has been recended pending evidence.

However your presentation of the story differs quite a bit from all the witnesses.

The story I've recieved from the vast majority, is Bolgar entered our realm, helmed and bearing arms before Pergalush ever confronted him. Supposing this is correct, Pergalush acted rather rashly, but given the history of violence towards our house exhibited by Bolgar, is still understandable.

Beyond that, it is not your place to defend people from the guards of our realm, nor is it the Associates place. That is akin to you arresting someone in your own realm, and myself showing up to batter you with my Art. Unnacceptable yes?

In any case, our investigation will continue, and I fully expect Bolgar to be named a formal foe of our House, while you will likely walk away from the incident none the worse for it, again, at the generosity and mercy of House Montezzi.
