When I first joined the server, I hoped my fighter could join a sort of ideal, envisioned mercenary group, but there was no such thing.
I'd like to just put a feeler out here to see if anyone else would be interested in forming such a creature.
This would be a fairly insular and tightly loyal group that was ruthlessly dedicated to their own wealth and wellbeing.
A lot of questing (quite possibly, too much for some people's tastes) a lot of exploration and amassing of general server knowledge would be involved. The eventual goal would to challenge quests such as the dungeon noone has ever gotten through, to become well enough known that important PCs, and perhaps NPCs , would hire them for expeditions and bodyguarding, and to perhaps even gain some political clout if it goes that far.
What would seperate us from pick-up groups is common wellbeing, resource sharing, and hopefully more intelligent cooperative gameplay. Everyone would have a stake in upping each other's gear and abilities, because in the tougher situations party survival will depend on everyone's contribution.
What is needed to start, is a figurehead. It wouldn't be fair for my 8 Charisma fighter to be recruiting, motivating, and guiding people, so somebody with social skills is needed as the foundation for this thing.
A cleric would be great too. FR is a very religious setting, and since we're in the underdark, a cleric of an applicable faith would be a cornerstone of the group, for spiritual guidance and favor, as well as the buffs and healing. Any diety of the Underdark or battle would fit the group well, including evil ones - just be aware this group won't look favorably on any course that would bring them into conflict with Sanctuary, Mur, Treansyr, Shadow Tribe, or Lolblipdoolbloop, because they would see these all as potential employers.
I play GMT-8 afternoons and early evenings and normally, as much as I want weekends.
Once again, this post is to gauge player interest in this , so chime in if such a group as this would appeal to you and it fits the timezone.
