The Passionate

The smell of sweet fragrance fills the air of Sanctuary and the pink of flower petals shines and flashes brightly throughout the city. Throughout Upper Sanctuary, the Residential District, and New Dunwarren, a number of signs appear along the streets. On each sign is a unique array of words formed into a letter or poem. Each sign is decorated with pink flower petals from a flowering fungus and dusted with fragrant essence to further stimulate the senses.

Coinciding with the signs and decorations is a single, large notice on the outside of the Town Hall which reads:

Thanks to the generous contributions from numerous and various people within greater Sanctuary, Senestia Avarscanti is happy and proud to present:

The Passionate

The Passionate is a collection of twenty six letters and poems exemplifying love, beauty, and passion. Organized all around the city are signs holding poems or letters written by passionate people to the ones they love or of the beauty they see in the world. Such is what life is about, what it is worth living for. So, take some time to yourself. Walk among the streets of Sanctuary and read what it is within, see if you can find all twenty six. See if you can find the passion not just within the city, but within its people.

The collected poems and letters displayed throughout the city are as follows:

Tomorrow by Silk Our eyes met last night On your face a smile so bright On mine a frown, drowning all light I reach out to caress your face You recoil as if struck by a mace Your smile gone, fear in its place Your light that once shone Traps you in darkness alone Your fear consumed you Drove me away, too We were not meant to be But tomorrow my love, we shall see.
Forbidden by Silk We share a burning unending passion, Yet for all our love, it cannot be. Because you are you, and I am me. Appearances, race. We are worlds apart. But inside of us, we share the same heart. A bond, unspoken, but always known. Forbidden, kept hidden, never to be shown.
Merin by Senestia Avarscanti Behind your whimsical curtains of light laughter, what is in you hidden but true? Shrouded in darkness which gives me some fright; I wonder what I do not know of you. But--I cannot resist! Your night sky skin of black obsidian; your hair that glows a soft moonlight white. It would be a sin to ignore the beauty that from you flows.
Sugrin by Senestia Avarscanti Courageous and brave, fearless he fights, jumping into any fray. With magic and song, you've no chance against this cute knight! Behind the fierceness, however, is a soul so kind. He speaks sweet words and gives compliments so bold, Sugrin's voice makes you feel warm and whole.
Untitled by Anonymous Framed by golden locks of flower petals, your face's beauty causes blood to quick; hearts to beat; and passion to run, high, thick. Eyes so blue, onlookers lose their mettle.

How any look on you with eyes settle? No wise man could ever an answer pick. Your fine image, lovely and lustrous, nicked and sculpted from the brightest of metal.

Watchman by Senestia Avarscanti Defenders of the walls. Standing tall, vigilant. Smitten: noble acts.
Agent by Senestia Avarscanti Studious in their dedication. In robes of red and black: handsome.
Seeker by Senestia Avarscanti Not the sky blue they search for relentlessly. But the shade still gives hope.
In Between by Anonymous Could there be one more kind, caring than you? Courageously you protect; bravely you defend. The risks you take would make grown men hesitate; the deeds you perform would make maidens’ heart flutter. Ahead and onwards you always charge: into storms of sharp blades, into mists of deadly whispers. Foes, ahead; friends, behind. In between: a small ferret fighting so hard.
Lost Love by Elwing, Ed. S.A. Eyes so bright, laughter like a bell Of crystal shining, fallen tears well, Though unshed, never falling to earth While memories of forgotten mirth Haunt me in my reverie.
Touch by Senestia Avarscanti It begins with a finger running along your palm, tracing the lines. Down your wrist, inside your elbow: shiver and shudder. Lips meet, breaths mingle. It ends: bodies pressed against one another, more than just fingers touching.
Untitled by Grulpo, Ed. S.A. Red Hair Girl, Me and you, We take whirl.
Untitled by Grulpo, Ed. S.A. With long look and longer sigh, Grulpo love Red Lady.
An Orcish Love Song by Vugdish Irndolen My love, you make my heart beat like the drums of war, Your supple body stirs in me a passion like that I have never felt before, I cannot believe a woman could hold such power over a male, There's nothing that can compare, not mead nor wine nor ale.

Big Love by Tarn Tarn does not have many coin to give. No big house to shelter you from rain. No knowledge to let you know all. Tarn not even very tall. Tarn know though that love be strong. Richer then any coin. Stronger then any house. Wiser then any shaman. Tarn would give it, that you might know it's power, and how Big Love can be.
Untitled by Anonymous, Ed. S.A Roses are red; Violets are blue I swear by all, I still love you Petty hopes; Graying leaves My life-force is leaving, my chest no longer heaves Last light of life; Doorway to death For you, my love, my last breath

Now in Celestia, my faith has gone Without you I cannot see the dawn I sit and wait and hold for none Aside from my love, my one.

Dear Najara by Kyle Fox, Ed. S.A I want you to know that I love you, I will always love you. It is because of you I have had my first untroubled nights sleep; because of you I have found my soul. You mean everything to me.
My Dearest Kyle by Dezria I hope you are not angry with me for the past nights events. You are so sweet and I didn't mean to hurt you in any way. I care for you and only wish the best for you truly. In any event I want to make it up to you tonight. If it pleases you I will be come to you at your calling and do what you wish of me.
Dear Kyle by Merien Rane, Ed. S.A I want to assure you I'm alive and well. Recent events have driven me to quieter corners of the Underdark. I want you to know I always valued your friendship. I wish we could have shared more but it seems it wasn't to be.
My Dearest Ruby by Kyle Fox, Ed. S.A I hope that you are reading this letter and that you are safe. I want you to know that I will always love you. My hope is that you find the surface. I pray that you find someone who loves you as much as I do; raise a family; and become the mother that I know you will be. I hope that you live a long and happy life as a captain, a woman and a mother.
Untitled by William Snyder When in the dark I see your shining light, Like a sanctuary against all that threatens me. My comfort and compassion, my last stand of sanity. Only you hold the second piece of my soul, my love.
Untitled by Anonymous., Ed. S.A My love, my love. O, where have you gone? Gone and left me alone for so very long.

My love, my love. O, my heart pines for you. It pines to revel again with you.

My love, my love. O, I still remember days gone by. I still remember the nights shared between you, and I.

My love, my love. O, where have you gone? Gone, and left me alone, for so very long.

To Senestia by Yandrie Redbeard, Ed. S.A You are all I think about, even when on patrol. People tell me it would be impossible: you and me. You are a ship that sails on its own without a crew, you are Senestia. If drow where charging you, I would die just so you would live a few seconds more. If you were to die I would pray to Sune and die just to be with you.
Untitled by Grin, Ed. S.A What is it on a day A day like this That perhaps we do see A kobold that will hiss?

Because such a day exists When we do fall into love When lovers do find What is written above.

Just a nice thought Just love and whatnot Just finding happiness in your stare Just living a life in which life is not fair.

Untitled by The Captain The rolling tide The leather hide A beautiful thing You can feel the sting Of sea salt on your head The captain is not dead

The ship it floats on the sea The coast awaits for thee He gets the girl and the swag She isn't a hag but rather a lady

It's a fine life on the sea It's a fine life for me.

Dearest Salvador by Senestia Avarscanti Time and space mean nothing in regards to you. I could walk away, never looking back; I could walk away, losing track of the days. But no matter how straight my steps, always would I be walking in the circle, back to you. To you, is where all my steps take me. To you is where all time ends. Time and space need not exist for I always will be with you.
