I am now certain that I'll be plagued by those images til the day I die. Each and every night. Each and every dream.

When we descended into the portal, we expected few, or, indeed, none to return. I may be the last. This only gives me more strength. By Hoar, their deaths will be avenged.

All this because of that damned mage. I hated him then, but the portal he created, the portal that unleashed the creatures on our homes, his very actions set me on my rightful path. I'd kill him if I ever met him, but I would whisper my thanks into his ear as he died.

The Society was there, they knew what the mage had managed to summon, or they knew where that portal led.

Why would they not accept the few survivors' aid when they planned to enter the portal? I had lost all I had, but in that instance, I gained so much more. My purpose was clear.

The images, the dreams I have... They are of our attack on the creature's lair.

Was my mind indeed one of the first to fall as the dreams suggest so persistently? How many allies fell because of me?

"Most." will my nightmares tell me tonight and every night, I am sure.

There is not one citizen in Sanctuary that is here because of some slaver's greed.

The fates have chosen us to be the first wave in the war against the aberration. The time spent in shackles was nothing but a trial.

I now stand amongst those that have passed this test. Before my end, I will march as many as I can into the aberration's realm. Before I die, I will see fear in its dying eyes.

Before my work with the troops begins, I'll need information about potential targets. Therefore, I have began hiring scouts to help me locate any den of the aberration in the areas surrounding Sanctuary. The "Hook Horror" would be most likely to hide around these parts, I've been told.

I have given the scouts the rank of "Slayer Sentry". They will be our eyes and ears. The "Slayer Avenger" rank will be given to all warriors deemed capable to stand with me in the attack. I'll list them here for now:

Note: I'll have to begin hiring mages capable of mimicking some of the mind-affecting curses of our enemy. If having them cast the spells on my own troops will get us better prepared to face the aberration, then so be it.
