The Positive Attributes of Necromancy.

By Lana Shadowsong

Introduction

Readers, seekers of knowledge. No doubt you have taken this book, likely offended by the very title. I gather you are under the misconception of what necromancy is. I can assure you, my loyal reader, that never in my works will I condone the practice of animation, or any similar conjuring or works that woulddo others harm.

What is Necromancy? This is often very misunderstoof subject. Necromancy is commonly known for the animation of undead, workings of negative energy, cursing of beings, and other similar foul things. This is true, these are all parts of necromancy. But what is not often known, is Necromancy is a much, much broader field than this. Necromancy is, in essence; The study of life and it's creation, as well as it's destruction.

Necromancy and evil. A common misconception is that all necromancy is evil. In fact, that is a rational assumption based on the large amounts of people who would attempt to use necromancy as a means of gaining power, or extending their own lives. This reputation granted to this school of magic, is by no means accurate, though. Through the study of necromancy, beautiful lives can be created. Necromancy is a careful balance, between life and death. Good and evil, if you think in those terms. The evil is often associated with power, and thus the greedy and powerhungry will turn to the darker side of necromancy. But it is the good hearted soul who will study necromancy to create and nourish life, rather than destroy it.

Creation as opposed to Animation It is common knowledge that Animation is akin to slavery, as it will enslave a person's soul. This act is horrible in itself, not considering the result. But what is the result? A foul, ugly and twisted creature is created. Undead beings, brought forth from the dead of our families, our friends. This is wrong, and nowhere in my work will I ever say otherwise. But the opposite is also possible. While necromancy can be used to bring unlife to a corpse, it can also bring Life. No souls are enslaved in this, it is as a new child is being born. A beautiful being, created pure, untainted. This is a most beautiful act which can bring much joy into the lives of others.

Conclusion And so my good sir or madam, I hope I have enlightened you as to the true nature of necromancy. It is not in itself an evil practice. It is the choices we make in what we study that makes it right or wrong. I have chosen to study this noble art, so that I may benefit others. Others choose to study this art so they may do harm. It is my hope you have gained a better understanding through reading this, and should you have any questions, you need only find me.

Thank you readers, and have a beautiful day.
