PC Faction: Montgomery's Men

Right then! I am looking for individuals who might be interested in joining a new PC faction called Montgomery's Men!

The premise behind the faction is a fairly simple one: We're basically a group of hardcore Ubel Loyalists, who believe in the legacy of Montgomery and Albert Ubel's legacy, whose loyalty lies with Sewer Town. We believe in freedom, detest tyranny and opression of any kind and we are going to bring the fight to the oppressors, until they are no more.

We uphold and fight towards reaching the ideal of freedom in all levels, personal and otherwise, while standing opposed to any type of perceived tyranny, anywhere at any time, and protecting Sewer Town from threats. The faction is designed to work closely with the Seekers, Sewer Town PCs, the gangs and rebels of Lower, dissidents and outcasts of the Sanctuary Society.

While it's meant to be a more of a militaristic organization, it is more open ended. While we're in a state of war, it is the belief of the Soldiers of Ubel that at the same time that they oppose the power which is on the rule, it is their duty to set an alternative way of life and goverment and this will be a big part of what we will do.

As you likely have seen by now it is more on the chaotic side of things. While there are no alignment restriction to joining us, Lawful might have a hard time having an excuse to work with us and being accepted.

If you'd be interested in this concept or is wondering if your character would fit in well by now, here follows a few reccomendations on what type of character would fit best. Although, again, we have very few restrictions and this is by no means obligatory to follow:

Alignment: Chaotic Neutral and Chaotic Good. Anything that isn't Lawful. Classes: Any class except for paladins and clerics of most deities. Deities: I figure the more chaotic ones will fit in better, but it shouldn't matter too much. Background: As for the background, the character should have some sort of connection with the idea of freedom and opposing the stablishment and not have extensive or well known connections with Upper Sanctuary or the Old Sanctuary Institutions. As such, characters who were born in Lower Sanctuary, Sewer Town and those who came from outside Sanctuary all could work very well.

As the faction is just beggining, we're looking for all types of characters. Although here a few specific roles to think on if you wish to join:

The Eyes: These characters are meant to be the more secretive members of the faction and should have expertise in infiltrating and actively seeking information on the enemies of the faction, as well as possible sources of resources and power to help the soldiers in the war. Something like a Seeker who happens not to work for the goverment or seek the Surface.

Quartermaster: A merchant style character, but also much more! He would be responsible for acquiring funds and supplies ( that includes selling the loot we find), taking in the information given by the Eyes to the right ears, coordinating the work of the public relations of the group and well, much more!

The Hands: Experts on dealing with devices and trinkets, those shall be responsible for creating tools to help in our work using the machine, defying the monopoly of the Spellguard of Machine Technology. They shall be responsible for coordinating sabotage missions too.

Diplomats: Public relations! These would be very important for the group and would consist on making sure the faction becomes well known, will work on stablishing connections with potential recruits and allies, black mailing important officials and working on negotiations with enemies. And of course, much more.

The Men: These shall be the bulk of the faction. This will do most of the questing, particulary more of those found in the Sewers and will be fighting...well, everyone really, from Watchman and Spellguard to Chosen. Of course, these particular members of the faction will have to be good at working in a team, as it'll be vital to the survival of the group. These characters may or may not take the roles I mentioned before.

Conflict against overwelming forces will be a lot of what we will do, so keep that in mind if you think you'd be interested. Don't expect to have an easy begining!

If you wish to know how you will get in if you've a character you consider would fit in, we should be doing some public advertisement sometime soon. Of course, the process is a completely IC one.

Any other specific questions, post them here and I will answer them. And that's all.

This is a great concept idea however..... I disagree with the alignments it should really include Evil! I mean for 1 I dont see how a chaotic group of freedom fighters cannot include the people who want freedom for their twisted ends. Plenty of former robbers/cuthroats should be mad Montezzi is ruining their trade I mean.

Dr. D, I doubt they have Paladins, so who really knows?

Unless it's a DM faction, and no one finds the evil out, they won't know.

They were alignment recommendations , not restrictions! We don't really have any way of knowing the alignment of characters so whatever is IC would roll.

Totally sweet. Totally gonna have Damien join this. Seems like a good faction idea.
