Lowbie quests

I'd like to see most of the lowbie quests advertised or have more hints around for newbs to find them.

Maybe even a few longer ones like the old trip to the Blue Mushroom and such, though the nasty spawns in the mines discourages that path for newbs.

If someone is new to EfU, sure it's fun to find the lowbie quests on your own, but I think it's cool to see a list of jobs in Town Hall to get them started. It also gives an IC rationale for vets who know all or most of them and run them through anyway.

That is of course, if the DM staff still wants to make the server inviting to newbs and keep them around when they check out EfU.

Hopefully a constructive suggestion.

All the basic noob quests are in the initial noob quest loop (x leads to Y, Y leads to Z) or in high traffic general areas that on doing the quest, give very nice noob loot and/or show you the city. The out of the way ones tend to be designed for that area, or for a particular race in mind. Last time I was in game the BB was still up in the Town Hall indicating lowbie quests with very, very good pay outs. I think most of the suggestions you made are pretty well implemented in game actually.

The best way to help a noob in game though, is to help the noob in game. You've done a pretty good job with your past characters of including noobs in groups and on missions, and on showing them the ropes. Props for that. It's a good example and I'm sure it's hooked many into EfU. I hope it continues if you want keep making the EfU environment as welcoming as it currently is IG.

Props

There -is- a list in town hall, and the last stand has a list as well. Not to mention the common quests in lower are fairly easy to get to, although some are things to be discovered (the level 2 one and the drunken half-orc one, of course I have no idea how to do the drunk one =/). Personally, I'd rather do the stuff I can solo for the lowbie quests in a pair, as it is faster, gives more exp, generally less tedious, and I don't have to doing crazy bored stuff like staffing the crap out of Mr. Fat Zombie being surrounded by zombies with mage armor and shield as protection with a 19 hp wizard with <4 AB. Of course I nearly pissed myself on how bad it went with only using shield one time, almost dying in that quest (I will never admit dying in that quest, ever =3).

I'm still new here, so I don't know how much weight my words will hold, but starting out (not just in EfU, but NWN PW's in general) entering any world for the first time can be slightly overwhelming. It's fairly easy to just walk around and talk to random NPC's for quests, but believe me, any sort of nudge in the right direction will most likely prevent the feeling of being overwhelmed that often leads to discouragment when you are still learning the ins-and-outs of a new server. I still have no idea where or how to get into the meat of the quests, or what I'm supposed to be doing to become a high enough level to participate in the higher-end content. I understand its supposed to take time and patience, but take it from a new player, the more direction you give a newcomer in the beginning, they are that much less likely to get frustrated or bored and quit. I don't see how giving new players a clearer nudge in the right direction would hurt anything, but then again, maybe all the signs are there and I'm just missing them :P

P.S. I'm gonna go checkout those boards in the town hall, thanks
