Lake Beast

The Lake Beast is an extremely cool feature of EfU. I was just wondering if we could make it so that not just druids could interact with it, but possibly rangers as well. Or if not, then perhaps a requisite animal empathy check for non-druids to use it? I think it would be great if other nature themed characters could use it, other than said druids. :)

Are you sure it is just for druids as it is?

A ranger with high animal emp should be okay. If that doesn't work its just because I forgot to add it when it was made.

Its not just for druids, though they are usually the only ones who know about it. Pretty sure I've made contact with other characters? Maybe I'm mistaken.

Anyone can use it. Controlling it is a different matter entirely. Those who don't control it are in for a dirty surprise!

BrittanyPanthas was suggesting that rangers with decent/high animal empathy would be able to navigate the lake without using the "dirty surprise", which, at present, they can't. Only druids can do this.

I'd second this suggestion, but I've been told that druids really need the perk compared to rangers. So, if it's a balance issue, I dig. If it's an issue of who can communicate with the monster, I feel that skilled rangers would have a valid chance at doing what druids can.

Druid automatically go where they want. Perhaps rangers can make a roll based on their AE when they attempt to control the monster. If they succeed, they go where they wish. If they fail, they get dumped on a random shore.

Yeah, I support BrittanyPanthas' suggestion. cawila-badilla!
