Light. For the first time in many days. It hurts my eyes but I rejoice, just the same. I must investigate this settlement I have found.

Strange, this settlement called Sanctuary. Inhabited mostly by ex-slaves or the offspring of slaves from most every race imagineable. Some here actively seek the surface, but most seem content to remain here. Just as well, I suppose, as it seem unlikely to find a way out of this cursed darkness.

Found a ruined Temple, while I was wandering the streets today. Seems the priests opposed the rulership of their district. How odd that a Temple of Hoar, defy the laws of the land. I must find something decent to eat and look into this further. That pie sure smelled good.

Found some old rusty armor today. It didn't clean up to well, but will serve in a pinch, at least until I can afford something better. Left word with a guard outside the Fortress in the Lower region about the Temple. When I checked back with him later, he informed me that his leader, one Prince Montezzi, left word for me that he was in support of the Temple being reopened. I must speak to this man in person soon. Surely if I start work on the Temple, other followers will join me.

Note: Need to find someone to train with before I forget which end of my javelin to thrust.

Met with the Prince of Lower today. Seemed a decent enough fellow. Talked with him of my plans to reopen the Temple. He was supportive of my plans, his only concern being that I would later rise against him. I must find a fellow Hoarran who can explain to me the details of exactly what happened, and why. Also met another devout of Hoar today, fairly new to this place as I am. Turns out, he is one of my countrymen from Chessenta. He also wishes to see the Temple restored thus, I am fairly certain we will become good friends. Surely their are more followers than the two of us, I really must seek out others to join our cause, so that I can soon have a Temple to guard.
