Underdark Expansion

I've noticed that the other gate at the upper city gates is never used. As far as I can tell, this is because there's just nothing to explore on the other side of it, and massive amounts of stuff leading from the opposite side of this area. Maybe there should be a second underdark road leading off in that direction with new places/settlements/quests and so forth.

Would.

Be.

Awesome.

Well, geography hinted at in the game makes it pretty clear that Dunwarren sat at the top of a vault, so nothing should be that way.

Yet, I'd love it if we could actually walk around the entire Dark Lake. If the ruins were a little larger with more to explore and hints of the past. The lower sewers felt like they once had a purpose, but that they were never quite completed and could be.

That's just starters, but having more to explore and find is always good if the module size can allow it.

Certainly, if the module has space, and the DMs are willing. That would be a great spot for some expansion.

The sewers go pretty deep, if you know where to look and I'm sure you some of you do, but seeing as 90% of people don't, maybe its time to open them up a bit? Give a few clues. Matter of fact, I probably don't even remember where to look anymore <_<. The same could be said about the ruins.

I agree that being able to walk the dark lake would be great, though recall it is supposed to be something along the lines of one of the great lakes in its size, so walking completely around it would probably take more time then you have between resets. There are clearly areas where it could be expanded though, both to the north and south.

As for heading the other direction in Sanctuary, see Oro's comment.

The sewers go VERY deep. Trust me, I got lost in them on more than one occasion.

But yes- plz be walking around the ENTIRE of dark lake.

I've seen all the sewers. I meant just Lower level of the sewers. Just that one area that, I think was originally created for two quests that never got done. There's really neat stuff there, not being used.

I believe that NWN is limited to the maximum number of area's that can exist at one given time in a persistent world. Something like X number of 28x28 maps and Y number of 16x16 maps, or something similar.

That's my theory as to why you see areas that have in-game events that destroy seal them off: to free up space for new areas/plots/faction HQ's/etc.

Adding areas would require removing others.

You can get to 500 areas roughly.

So... sewers. I'm totally heading down there right now. If I die, Azzam can have my greatsword. Peace to you all.

I don't think you should be able to explore the entire Dark Lake. I think it's nice if we don't quite know what's out there, and it also gives the DMs a way to just fit things in as they need to.

But deep dungeons, dunwarren, sewers, underdark areas (specifically in the other direction). All great!

Would be nice to see more of the ruins. My advise for the time though is not to explore all the underdark over and over again, but find ways to enjoy the areas we already have more so then before. Like a fascist taking over a poor area with high death and unemployment rates! Ohh, wait we already have one of those. Then how about some kind of shelter for the injured, possibly located in upper, instead?

It's IC that there's no (easy) way to the east in Sanctuary Gate.

We're certainly always intersted in adding interesting content.

The Dark Lake is vast, and so our preference is to have different sections of it be accessible by boat or whatever.

I guess I'm one of the ninety percent that believes theyv'e explored the entire sewers but really havn't. Seriously though, there's some interesting secrets in there. Everyone back off cuz theyr'e mine!
