Missive to the Spellguard

Agents of the Spellguard,

I am writing in relation to our argument about the cremation of the dead in the crypts.

It is my understanding that it will do nothing to endanger Sanctuary. I do not believe that the burning of the bodies will unleash any magical discharge, as it was put, and that this magical discharge may be wholly avoided if the area is warded or if the bodies are taken individually to the warded section of the Mausoleum.

It is also my belief that Undead rising up once the bodies are cremated in the crypts, or elsewhere is unlikely and I've little clue as to where this hypothesis has arisen from.

I do not think the magical discharge was ever a true issue, seeing the contradiction brought up when I had offered to cremate the bodies under the warded section and was refused. I think it more likely that this issue has much to do with the Bresley line.

Clearly, our issues with this will not be resolved in the Council if Chairman Dentra sees fit to veto it, as he appears to deter often to the Spellguard.

I am writing so we might reach an agreement or understanding on this, so all parties might be content. I wish to know where these assumptions that undead will rise up have come from. Perhaps it has happened in the past? Are there any documented instances of this? Do you have any evidence or anything to support that the curse in the crypt is related to other instances of the undead in Dunwarren?

I am not inclined to cremate the Bresley's if their will specifically states they wished a proper burial and to remain as they were, unless they are the direct cause of this curse. Perhaps you have a copy of these wills? We might let the Bresley line rest as they are if both of these standards are met.

I am also perfectly capable to come to the Tower and speak about this personally.

Live Well,

Caretaker Arnen
