I am performing a Speaking for those Mithrilsoul Dwarves who were excuted against you and your men.

I wish to have all accounts to be most accurate and fair in my presentation and thus wish an account of your side of the affairs.

If you wish to tell me your account, we may speak personally or you may respond in a missive. Whichever is easiest for you and your schedule.

The gaps that need be filled are what originally caused agression from or towards the Montezzi court. I had understood that the Dwarves felt wronged as an assassin called "Banjo" was hired to slay one of their kin, reportedly by "Ghyrrt" a servant of your Court.

I also understand that you demanded an apology from their Elder, which she refused to meet to my understanding.

However, the exact truths would be appreciated to remove any possible speculation. If you might supply me with the transgressions of their last moments before death this might also be appreciated.

The following is my version of events.

The dwarf priestess Breena assisted in an attack upon my brother, and like so many others was offered an opportunity to apologize. Rather than do so, she sent us threatening letters.

The monstrous goblin Ghyrrt, a slave of my brother, was looking to employ two penniless adventurers in my realm. He assigned to them the task of finding a dwarf's beard - a crude assignment, but hardly one of murder. The dwarf Banjo and an unknown other took it upon themselves to attack and slay a dwarf named Krovus within the Mithril Soul Hall.

Despite several letters explaining that I was not responsible for this attack, the Mithril Souls took it upon themselves to declare war upon my realm. From the very start my spies infiltrated their ranks and made their plans clear to me. Several times the dwarves gathered in a great gathering and plotted against me.

More letters were sent suggesting the negotiation of a peace. They were denied.

I learned that plans were afoot to murder my soldiers and guards as they defended the realm when alone and vulnerable to brutal attack.

The dwarf Breena died, and the dwarf-clan became even more war-like.

Finally, they along with a member of the Watch invaded my realm in great force. They were defeated absolutely and utterly by my guard.

Each dwarf was offered the chance to bend the knee and make an oath not to attack my realm again, and each dwarf except one spat upon such an offer or continued in their attacks.

Each dwarf was executed, save for the female priestess Moignar, who agreed to live in peace and prevent further dwarven assaults in the future.

The human watchman Luke Danger was briefly imprisoned, however a messenger from Sheriff Azzam requested his return. He was released to this messenger unharmed and with all of his equipment.

You may take such lessons from the incident as you will.
