Theodore Erhund

This bulky, leather bound book is hidden in Theodore's pack. It begins by the time of the 109th year of the founding. It is stained and grimy, many of it's pages' content indiscernible. The hand writing is quite noticeably shakier as the years go on.

After so many years of hiding and making a miserable living in those gods damned sewers, I have decided to leave. I have decided to depart above and see how the comings and goings are.

I leave behind a community of my 'equals', my family. But they'll understand. They are like me. Many fought alongside me. Many do not remember- BUT I DO. I remember him - and so does the Re . But I digress. They are not nearly as important as they may think, the pathetic and apathetic filth we deal with every gods damned day. It's best not to spend so much ink on them. I have looked up, to the Lower and Upper Cage and they seem the same to me. Tyranny is paramount. The Spellguard rules freely. Another Dhogur is controling the Watch, in the upside. And he will be controled by the Spellguard just the same.

In the downside, a new tyranny arises. The Montezzi, the 'noble' Montezzi they call themselves. They are brutal, but effective. But I can see it - they are all nothing but pawns. I look into their eyes and I can see it - they are hollow. They are pawns, mind controled by the Spellguard, even if unknowingly. I have decided to tread carefully when dealing with them. They may very well be used.

The Seekers, as weak and hesitant as they may have been, were an important piece in counter-balancing their tyranny. Now they are gone. I see but one, or two in the streets. It is sad. The traditions are falling are apart. Father would've been sad. But to me - it makes me happy. Without the institutions being able to claim the mantle of freedom and equality they once did, it will only be easier to destroy them.

It is time 'Sanctuary' had another Brutal Awakening, I'd say. And if it will take another Khovn slaughter or the most brutal of wars, so be it. It may not, and will not remain as it is. It is time the true brethren of Ubel got together once more - that I managed to find those of like mind and gathered them and then we can start fighting. I have started already. We will see what will come of it. The future, as far as I can see, is dark. Darkness approaches, as Albert once said.

Yours in Ubel, - Teddy

- The Children awake. - J. Shows promise. (NO MORE) - Detection - Unavoidable. - SHORT NAMES - LEWIS - The Brethren of the Reaper - It will be started. UBEL IS MIGHT. THE REAPER, IS HIS AGENT. They will know, at last, what we are capable of.

As the Tyrants of New Age make their presence known to ourselves, I was presented with the most horrifying show I have ever seen. I saw the proud, free men of my home shrink and hide from the mere presence of these people. They do not fight. They do not speak. They flee, and hide. THEY WAIT AND SEE.

I have waited. For all of these years, I have waited. I do not know what for. I have watched as our leaders were slaughtered, as the people of Lower were crushed, as the leader of the rebellion was betrayed. "We will wait and see", she tells me. But - waiting is all we have done. For thirty four years, for a hudnred and fifty four years, we have WAITED. I do not want to wait anymore. I refuse to.

What happened to the proud legacy of Ubel? Where did the libertarian strength of our warriors, of our brethren has gone? Did it die alongside our leader? Why is that we ALLOW ourselves to be trapped and cornered like rats in our own homes? Why is it that only a few, even in the place which is meant to be a haven in both mind and space of freedom, that bother to STAND UP and SPEAK UP?

Either the Spellguard is indeed getting through to us, or something else happened. Something else is draining, is killing us. It isn't natural, that the people are dead and alive at the same time. I swear, I will find out what is it that is responsible for what is happening to my beloved home - and it will regret ever touching the minds of our brethren of freedom. As a side note, I have found many new names and tools. They should be useful. - Teddy

- The Brethren Lay Dormant. - The Reaper finds Allies in Unexpected Places - The Reaper has been detected. - WE MUST ACT, NOW. Or else we will be acted upon. - Gather the remnants. Begin anew. From the ashes shall be made fire. IT BEGINS. SOON, THEY WILL TASTE THE IRE OF THE REAPER.

There is hope. The forces of freedom are regrouping, under new names and banners, gathering their strength. I, of course, will have my part in the process, a prominent one I'm sure. I have some good plans for the immediate future and I am watching the comings and goings of the City very warily. Some of my new allies have perished, few ones have shown, but I am optimistic about the future. The Army of Ascension seems like the most promising of the arising groups and I'll make it a point to work with them.

It seems there is some friction between the Council and the Spellguard. The Council is as weak and cowardly as ever - I had the chance, today, to witness a Councilor cowering and negotiating with a drow something. I know not what, but what matters is the deed. I have also been successful in locating Spellguard supporters and soon something shall be done about them. Azzam is still a mystery to me, however, as is the Watch in general.

The Montezzi tyrants have began their first moves. They have slaughtered Mithrilsouls, they harass me constantly, they have made their appearance with drow. I must make it a point to move against them - soon. A public humiliation seems most fitting.

- Teddy

Reminders: - The Lysik boy has vanished. Make it a point to look for him. - Remember to have words with the Mithrilsouls. - Have a list of promising groups. Start working on subjects of meeting.

A scrawled, bloody and grimy note is added to the journal. Alturiak 19th, 34th since the U.R.

An ambush in the sewers. Five Chosen. Heard me coming, the bastard - they got one of the kids. I couldn't get his corpse. The Chosen, however, have paid. Took me ten days and a living hell but I got them all. Sure, there will be more later, but that's all I can do. Maybe they'll all die - eventually. I'll be sure to have a hand at that.

Seems Uldur is dead. Can't say I'm surprised - he was always too much of an idealist for my taste. Of course, he'll get a proper burial. His death doesn't make things any easier, either. I still need to rest. Recover. Then that Prince and the rest of the damned tyrants above shall taste a little bit of the fire I got left from the Chosen. And mayhaps at that time we will see Monty arise to his glory once more.
