[Letter to Councilors and/or Civil Servants @ Town Hall]

Greetings,

I am Senestia Avarscanti, Priestess of Sune. Ever since my arrival here in this city I have worked towards making the city more beautiful. Love and beauty come hand in hand, if is the city is beautiful it therefore is conductive to the blooming of love among all within it such as to make the city a better place as a whole.

Despite all the work I have done, I am not neither finished nor satisfied. My work is always continuous and on going, and for my next task I wish to build a temple in honour of Sune. The temple of Sune would be a place where one may discuss, find, and become beautiful, loving, and lovable.

I have decided that the Canal Ward offers the perfect place and opportunity for such a temple to be built. A still fledgling, growing ward, the temple of Sune would bolster the hope and determination of the people within the ward allowing both to grow symbiotically from one another.

With that in mind, I would like to ask who owns the building nearest to Linda Knowing's Divination Store. I have not been able to see the interior of the building but I believe, from what I have seen from the outside, that it may be adequate for my plans. If that building is owned by the city, what would I have to offer so that I may take ownership and responsibility of it? If not, may I inquire as to who I should direct my questions to?

Thank you for your time, I hope to hear a response soon.

Best regards and a beautiful day to you, Senestia Avarscanti

Miss Avarscanti,

As we have previously discussed, I enjoy the artwork you have produced and wish that you would continue to paint and improve our city in your own way. This Temple, though, is asking for quite a lot. First, the Council will need to know a great deal more about what you intend to do with the building and how it will be maintained.

Do you have any additional supporters? Do you have a sufficient sum of gold to purchase the property? What sort of things should we expect from your temple, in order to relieve it of taxes as a religious structure and not a business? Will you also sell magic spells, beautiful objects, or other such things? The more details you can provide, the more the Council will be able to accomodate your desires.

Councilor Dentra

Dear Councilor Dentra,

It is good to hear from you; thank you for the prompt reply. The purpose of my original letter was to determine more information about the building in question so that I might estimate just how much support and money to include in a more formal proposal. As it is, I do not know for sure but I suspect I only hold an amount of support and money that would be unsatisfactory to the Council. I suppose you could say I am looking for a sort of numerical goal to keep in mind and work towards.

As for what the temple would provide. The temple would be intended to be a place of serenity, allowing the citizens of Sanctuary an opportunity for both individual contemplation and meditation along with providing counsel and advice on the subjects of my Lady. No Temple of Sune would be proper without a gallery of arts and so I shall certainly have various works of different mediums on display to be appreciated by the people.

I would personally staff the temple myself, providing spells, blessings, and prayers to those who would ask for them and donate what they can. I would also provide more creative services at my discretion: offering lessons to others on the art and skills of painting and poetry writing for example. I do not plan on tending to the temple alone, however, as I am planning on finding and training acolytes who would serve when I am physically absent from the temple.

This brings me to my next point. As I said at the beginning of this letter, I would imagine the amount of support and money I currently have to be considered low by the Council. However, this is something I have already began planning to rectify. To attract funds, support, and prospective acolytes I plan on regularly holding Grand Revels--the first to be held within the upcoming tenday. A celebration of beauty, love, art, and learning, such an event is usually held in a temple of Sune. In my case however, I will be holding such to show just a taste of what a permanent and dedicated temple of Sune would provide to the people of the city.

I fear that this letter may be becoming long winded and so I shall stop here. If there are any more questions please feel to ask them. But for now, I would also like to request an opportunity to tour the inside of the building in question and to know an estimate of the sum of gold required to purchase it.

Best regards and a beautiful day to you, Senestia Avarscanti

I'll forward this to the clerks for an estimate of cost, although I must say, if your Revels and events are impactful enough on our society, the Council will likely lower the cost to promote your positive influences over the community.

Councilor Dentra

((DMs will have to answer the buying real-estate stuff! Generally speaking, property tends to be given instead of bought (although not always) and they'll work alongside your goals so that you earn it in some way. Anyways, catch one on IRC who can help guide you and your group along and answer this better than I!))

Dear Councilor Dentra,

That is certainly the idea I had in mind! Thank you very much for your help.

Best regards and a beautiful day to you, Senestia Avarscanti
