Since Snoteye helped me so easily and well before with bringing my party invite screen back up - I'm going to try another one.

I can't play NWN2 because my video card can't support it. I've had it for a year and a half sitting in the box, and I'd like to play it.

There are two general types of video cards? Correct? I don't know how to figure out which I have.

And what type of card do I need without paying a lot of money?

Right click on your desktop and go to Properties -> Advanced. You should be able to find the name of your video card there. You can do a Google search on the name to find detailed information -- I'm guessing the types you're thinking of are AGP and PCI-e, of which the latter is the newer.

These cards will support shader model 3.0. If you have on on this list and are planning to buy one, they will most likely be able to run the game very well.

There are two main brands, which were already mentioned. nVidia and ATI. I highly recommend getting an nVidia card these days.

If your computer is currently so old that it doesn't run NWN2, you've very likely got an AGP video card. That's not really relevant to anything though, since there are both AGP and PCI-e cards that can run NWN2. In fact, I'd be willing to bet that any PCI-e card out there will work with NWN2. Whether your motherboard supports PCI-e cards is another thing you should consider if you're about to buy a new gfx card though. :P

The thing is, if your computer is old enough, getting a new video card might not be enough. You might also need a new processor and more RAM to run it smoothly, or to run it at all.
