Aldar Helkner II; Dealings in the Dark

Entry 1

I hired a new arrival to work as my Agent in The Sanctuary Below, for the pre-paid price of fifty coins, he pledged himself to me.

I expressed my interest in the Order of the Spellguard Mages formally this dark, by penning a letter to make them aware of my intentions to join their ranks.

Entry 2

Spellguard Letter

Agents,

Living in Sanctuary has been a turbulent existence, especially in recent years. The various shifts of power have brought Sanctuary almost to Her metaphorical knees.

However the fruits of my observations have bore me one single truth. The Spellguard, since the Founding, have always stood by Sanctuary, in protection of Her people.

It is because of this, that I choose to pledge my allegiance to Commander Simms, by applying officially for membership within the Order of the Spellguard. As you will likely need proof of my intentions, I invite your Field Agents to set me tasks to prove myself, however ghastly.

Kind Regards,

Aldar Helkner II

Entry 3

The new arrival I paid for information is nowhere to be found. No matter, I'm doing well arranging my other contacts within the city. A certain gentleman, by the name of "Fairvoice", approached me to warn me of the impending bloodshed to come in the Lower Quarter, between the Montezzi House and those he simply spoke of as, the "United". I'll look into the situation more, and try and patch together some kind of picture.

Entry 4

The following reply was sent by the Spellguard Order, in reply to the previously filed letter, regarding initiation:

Spellguard Reply 1 Stop by the tower at your earliest chance that I may administer a test of basic arcane competance and have a brief chat with you.

Agent Lemalian

I penned this reply, in an attempt to establish myself as thorough and meticulous. Two qualities I believe are vital qualities for any loyal Agent:

Aldar Helkner Reply 1 Agent Lemalian,

If you would be so kind as to provide a basic outline of this test, so that I might prepare myself ahead of time. Preperation and logical thinking, after all, enable us to overcome any obstacle.

Kind Regards,

Aldar Helkner II
