You have proven your honor and valor through your actions and words. Being the council does not share your view pertaining to Seeker reintegration, we are forced to shift the bulk of our activities toward attacking slavers in an effort to maintain funding for or operations. However, I wish to part some lasting intelligence to you to assist you with understanding some of the dynamics of House Montezzi within lower. As you know, our Seekers have been known for their scouting and tracking abilities. Yet, every seasoned scout we sent into lower was quickly identified and murdered. During one of the last battles in lower, our forces were quickly identified and cut down. Later, we have two reliable sources reported that a Spellguard agent was seen providing arcane support prior to their attack on our Seekers. Thus, explaining how we were unable to hide in the shadows or move without being heard.

Enclosed is a report containing the report that was filed. I would hope that Spellguard support to such a murderous and tyrannical house could not be in the interest of Sanctuary. I would like to see these individuals brought to justice, however I fear they will find the end of blades in the legal void between Upper and Lower.

Seeker Calmcacil Report: Spellguard Support to House Montezzi

This dark, a half-orc approached me and provided me with a Seeker decoder ring. He asked me to provide him with 1000 gold, but settled for 100 from my personal coffer. This half orc stated that yesterdark, he escorted a child to House Montezzi’s fort. Once they were inside, this child polymorphed into Agent Ramana. The agent met with House Montezzi staff, while the Half Orc stood guard at the door. During this meeting, Agent Ramana stated that the spellguard fully supported House Montezzi’s actions, and Officer Barkley offered some sort of deal with the bonus of bringing House Montezzi more Seekers.

The Half Orc approached the Spellguard Tower and relayed this information to one inside. He was provided with 100 coins and employment oppertunties if he was to forget about what he heard. He acknowledged and walked out the door.

This information pertaining to Spellguard involvement with House Montezzi was confirmed prior by Seeker Myria before she died. She stated to me in passing that she seen and overheard discussions, but was seeking to finish up a last mission before she accomplished any paperwork.

My fellow seekers…this is truly troubling news.

My friend…Enclosed you will find two recent reports that were filed with our organization. The threat from House Montezzi builds underneath our feet. We have separate reporting pertaining to House Montezzi conspiring with demonic creatures, while they continue to maintain their professional relationship with the Spellguard. Moreover, it seems that House Montezzi has captured Luther Hornraven, leader among the Triad of New Dunwarren.

I would strongly suggest that the Watch develop plans pertaining to countering the threat posed by Montezzi. The day House Montezzi starts to threaten upper Sanctuary’s interests is quickly approaching. It would be best for the Watch to have actions in work to insure the fight is clearly in favor of the Watch, when hostilities break.

Additionally, I am compelled to relay that your new hin recruit has caught the attention of some of our operatives. I would recommend you keep a close eye on her. We find she lacks sounds judgment and borders on becoming classified as a “viable target” during any future operations against targets within lower. This thought is largely based upon her personal and professional relationships with suspect individuals, as well as her vocal opposition of challenging House Montezzi. She needs to decide if she is going to actively resist House Montezzi, or remove herself completely from lower. Anything less, I cannot guarantee she will be safe from any hostile actions by Upper of Lower forces.

Confidential Informant This dark, I was approached by a young human woman. She stated her friend IIIyan told her that he was tricked in helping House Montezzi find a magical mirror. Apparently, this mirror contains a demon within it.

As for the information I have gathered, I have seen, heard and been retold what follows:

• The halfling singer Sugrin is attempting to join the Watch, and has sought recommendations, telling the previously unknown names of his past criminal associates to an Agent in the Spellguard.

• The same Agent has been seen observing the activities of Luther Hornraven.

• Spellguard Agents have been seen on numerous occasions acting on friendly terms with the Montezzi. A man believed to be an Agent said his good-byes at the recent Montezzi funeral.

• The Montezzi fed the blood of Luther Hornraven to an infernal creature when they took him captive in their fortress. I believe the reason Montezzi refuses to call himself "King", instead preferring the title "Prince", is because he considers this creature, or the devil/demon this creature serves, as the "King".

• The Montezzi recently murdered a man of the Sewers when they successfully captured Luther Hornraven.
