When playing EfU, I often DC anywhere from the middle of a great conversation to mid-combat with 10hp left reaching for a potion. Would this new mechanic be like a sniper's bullet to the head for me, or shall I rest easy and dance along my merry way? Ounce of prevention, pound of cure, yadda yadda yadda. 8)

That should not be an issue, as the system is very capable of discerning between legitimate disconnects, and "death logging". However, should you find yourself the victim of an unfortunate bug in the system, alert us to it, and we'll look into the situation!
