I am using a portrait from one of the Baldur's Gate portrait packs, I'm not sure which one. I checked the one I thought it was but for some reason it's an exe file.

I don't suppose there is a way to change a portrait without rebuilding the whole character? Looking at some of these, I'm coming to realize that Rook's portrait is quite lame.

Yeah, he doesn't. I've gotten this comment twice, :P. It's supposed to be a torch he's holding in his mouth so he can climb better. You can barely see the end of it sticking out the other side of his mouth.

Any tips for how I can make it look more like a torch? Would little drops of burning pitch falling off the end of it help?

Making it bigger.

Make it have a little bracket on the flame end like most torches do.

Making the flame more prominent would go a long way too.
