Missive addressed to Michael Collier

Collier,

Though you have withdrawn yourself from the public eye of late, I address this to you as founder and in recognition of the authority you still wield in directing the House of Light.

In consideration of recent events, it has become evident that only a strong hand can ensure that the House of Light does not tumble into the dust of obscurity. I have discussed the matter with both Councilmember Bhast and Disciple Mylin, and it has been agreed that the Civil Defence League should step in to safeguard the House.

My men have been charged with protecting the building and the work of your acolytes from further attacks. The involvement of the Tigereyes in extortion and their categorical failure to prevent the fires makes it clear that their interests and the wellbeing of the House of Light are at odds.

The Watch and Civil Defence League are conducting an investigation into the destruction of the building. One of the perpetrators, known as Maestro, has been apprehended, tried and found guilty for his part. Several accomplices remain at large. I ask that I be permitted full access to the House of Light archives, evidence suggests that an insider was accessory to the fire.

I’d also appreciate an estimate of the cost involved in reconstruction. I’m willing to double my donation if it ensures that the House once again stands.

May the Watcher protect what remains and guide us through these trying times.
