Project Prelude.

Introducing..

Project Prelude.

You ever wanted tobuild a nice group concept, but noticed the preludes never seem to come?

If you get a sweet group concept and want a prelude, send me a message, and I'll run you something on a local server. This is basically a chance for you to get your prelude, get your sense of "groupyness" going, so you have a better sense of your characters when you jump to EFU.

Just a heads up, for any who are expecting mass loot of XP normally gotten from preludes. This entire thing is just a chance for people to really get into their characters, and have more of a dynamic shared background, before beginning on EFU. There may or may not be phat loot and XP on this prelude server, but your PCs will not be carried over to EFU from the prelude server. You will start EFU just as any other PC would. No perks, no benefits, aside from you actually have played the concept, which is an advantage, really.

I am incredibly flexible, which what I will run, and if you get a good sized group of people interested, I'll whip something up for you. I've built an entire module for this, designed specifically so no two dungeons and quests are ever the same.

To optimise the fun and flexibility of this module, I've used methods such as;

-Dynamic transitions. (the target of any trantision can be chosen by me IG, so any area can lead to any other area, resulting in a wide varity of possiblities.

-NPC Subdual. All NPCS will subdue by default, rather than killing the PC outright, unless set to kill. This allows for you to effectively be 'knocked out' during a fight. You can still be killed while knocked out, but hte first initial blow will subdue. This was done in mind with most people's stories begining with you being captured, so NPCs will effectively attempt to capture you. (Though they can be easily changed to FD, in the event it is not a capture/escape prelude.)

Important notes:

Subrace bonuses, and EFU voice commands will not work here, as they are not scripted to. I -may- attempt to get the custom domains working, as it's not as much work as the voice commands. EFU Spell nerfs will not be in effect. This is basically stock Bioware NWN, unless specifically listed otherwise.

While this is done with EFU DM permission, this is not an official subsection of EFU or anything. In the case of controversial and/or questionable events, the EFU DMs reserve the right to declare the events on this server Entirely OOC here on EFU.

Just to expand upon that disclaimer, we are for the moment fine with players on a separate server having a quest where stuff happens (but nothing outrageous, and nothing that would normally require an app to have as a background for EfU), and then start those characters normally on EfU and RP that they have a shared background.

Basically, if it's kept simple, nothing that's going to mess with our setting or present problems to us, we don't really have a problem with it. Certainly, as it stands, players can already devise backgrounds amongst themselves when they start PCs together, so I'm sort of treating this the same way.

We also reserve the right to request that this be shut down if it's a problem in any way.
