Letter to K. Mur left at Last Stand

K. Mur,

Agent Semaj and I were suitably impressed by your fighting prowess yesterday. It is good to see Lord Mur does not spawn cowards in battle. Before we can give you an assurance of safety from groups such as the Mithrilsoul dwarves, I feel there's a figurative, veritably weighted simian we haven't spoken of. We would like an explanation for the 100,000 gold bounty posted at Fort Mur for Sheriff Azzam, and how you foresee your relations being with the Watch in the coming weeks or months. I can set aside a time for your meeting.

Agent Jacob

Bounties Need something done? Have coin but not the ability? Fort Mur has long offered to post bounties of individuals. For three hundred coin a bounty can be posted, and 20% of all earnings from the transaction to the Mur responsible for the changing of hands.

Fort Mur is a neutral third party, and has nothing to do with individuals posting said bounties. As the Fort is an outpost in the middle of Underdark, that offers much trade, individuals seek to leave word here that wanderers by can make deals. We act as middle men alone, as murcenaries, and cannot be held responsible for any individuals who find said bounties offensive, concerning them, or what have you.

If you've rothebeef with a bounty, for 400 gold you can have a counter-bounty posted, with 30% of gold changing hands going to the individual who coordinated between yourself and any bounty hunters.

Mur has nothing to do with this bounty, aside from posting it. As a frontier outpost, everyone from goblins to Drow and everyone in between frequents the place so long as they don't cause trouble. That being said a good deal of people are able to see bounties so they are posted as an individual sees fit. An individual pays, the notice is put up, and then we offer neutral ground for any transactions to take place. If you've issue with a bounty or that your mightiest warrior in the city (I would assume given the lucrative bounty) is likely to succumb to the bounty hunters, You are free to post a counter bounty for 400 gold, and then 30% of gold offered to the Bounty Hunter can be paid to the Fort.

As for my relations with the watch, I have little interest in breaking your laws so long as citizens do not act upon me first. I -will- kill any who draw arms against me, as is the Duergar way. We live long lives, and if a fool acts against us once, it is likely they shall do so again. Private Danger and I shared a session of history of my people, and the late Private Sten was hoping to arrange a good deal of Sanctuary's bounties placed in Fort Mur before his demise. In warning Private Danger about the...Danger of trusting the Mithrilsouls, I raised the possible notion of Clan Mur guarding your canal, but this idea was promptly shutdown given the fact that I am a Duergar. I know individuals bear grudges, but it is foolish to remain unsafe of an issue as petty as slavery, but I have little interest in human politics and bickering.

If the city, and watch, do not wish my aid, then that is their own sufferings.

Others will.

K. MUR
