The Sixth Day of Hammer, 1375
I, Prince Rinaldo Montezzi, do hereby proclaim that the territory stretching from the streets of Lower Sanctuary to the border of the Canal and the southern ruins, is no longer a masterless domain, but now is under my command and rule.
My Guards and Court have proven our rights by humbling or executing those groups who opposed us in this. The corpses of seditionists have been piled up, and many have offered forth oaths of fealty and allegiance.
At this time, only the Fortress in the center of the Sanctuary Below is to be considered under my domain, all other interior buildings that are in use remain under the control of their respective guardian, until such a time as they wish to offer forth their pledge of fealty, and receive honors and prestige because of it.
The rule of Prince Montezzi and his Court is absolute, but he wishes it to be known that the following are strict violations of the law in this domain:
Wearing a helm, while not a member of the Montezzi HouseTraveling invisible, while not a member of the Montezzi House
Traveling in an unduly sneaky or stealthy manner which demonstrates a clear interest in remaining unseen from the Guards of the House
Failing to consent to a search for any reason
Raising arms against any Montezzi
Behaving in a disrespectful or disparaging manner to any member of the House
Disobeying a direct command from a member of the House
Violation of these laws will result in quick and immediate punishment.
House Montezzi will bring order, prosperity, and security to this place. If you will offer up your oath of loyalty, and find new purpose and meaning through service, seek out the House. If you refuse to accept the right of House Montezzi to rule this territory, then never enter here, or face the consequences for your sedition.
PRINCE RINALDO MONTEZZI
