Wise man's brew

The medecine lady in lower sells wise man's brew that for 60 coins. A PC can never hope to compete with that. It, er, decreases chances for PC interaction, yes, that's it. That's what it does.

And it's making Dalman lose clients! Coins! Gold! Shinies! Jinks!

Can that potion price be ajusted?

Purchase said potion, imbibe it, and you will realize the futility of selling your mystical powers for material wealth, my son. As the wise Underdark Master once said to the homely creature, "Alas, that is not bug on your face, but a feature."

All joking aside, I'm assuming it's owls wisdom for 60 coins. Admittedly, yes, that would be far too cheap for this particular potion when a possible player source of revenue is considered.

I'd gladly pay 60 for a NPC merchant armor potion, and that would still allow players to undersell them fairly easily. Of course, that brings balance concerns of its own, particularly if all the bugs aren't out of that spell yet.

Having said that though, is there really a demand for this potion?

I use it on my monk for 1-3 extra AC. Unless we get a flood of monks, or will saves brutalize some sensible souls, I'd stick demand just above Imp. Herbs. 8)

Semli is there really a demand for this potion?

Dunno, but every lost customer makes me cry for hours.

Besides, if i didn't know better, i'd buy the brews in lower and sell them for 100 in upper to newbyes. That'd be really mean.

Hum.. come to think of it, scratch that suggestion.

Tell you what - Do what I do, if someone outprices you, Simply remove them form the market :)

I will bump up their cost a bit.

wcsherry I will bump up their cost a bit.
While you're at it, could you get that crazy Rat potion the fellow across from her is selling down? Unless the price is that high for balancing purposes, etc.. 8)

A wisdom potion increases will saves for all characters, ups the save DC of divine casters, and gives monks an AC bonus, as well as increasing various wisdom related skills by a point or two for a time (spot, listen, and heal).

There are only two uses for an intelligence potion; uping the save DC of wizards and giving rogues an extra point or two to unlock a difficult lock or remove a troublesome trap.

So, if anything, the intelligence potion should be cheaper than the wisdom potion, in my opinion. Opening a locked door once is a poor alternative to actually buying an item that increases your open lock skill, and wizards can typically make their own intelligence potions much more cheaply if they want to eek out an extra DC point or two.

I agree that the brew is cheap, but keep in mind as someone else said, unless you're a monk, you're not going to see the real benefit from it because (and having a monk I would know) the duration of those are troublingly short. I'd rather buy them from dalman who's higher level anyway.

Hear Hear!

PS: does lvl actually matter? i thought it didn't?

It doesn't.

It should though, Quality via experience and all that.

Price is up. Post another suggestion thread if you think it should be raised some more.
