Senestia Avarscanti

Avarscanti,

I'm looking for someone who can capture beauty in a painting. That you?

I want my rugged masculinity and the raw sex appeal of my gray skin forever immortalized in paint, so that I can hang it over the fire in the great hall I'll be acquiring shortly. If this sounds like something you can do, drop me word at the Crone.

I'll be waiting.

KHALDAR

Khaldar,

I indeed can capture beauty with paint, arranging and placing it upon canvas. However, I have a suspicion I would like alleviated first before anything else. Why is your skin gray?

Also, for further correspondence, is there any place within Upper Sanctuary that I could leave a reply for you? I do try to avoid walking the streets of Lower when ever possible.

Best regards and a beautiful day to you, Senestia Avarscanti

Avarscanti,

My skin's gray because I was born that way. Still good for painting, though. Perhaps we can set up an exchange: you toil to produce a portrait of me in exchange for a sampling of duergar poetry on the topic of your goddess. Nothing says beauty like the workings of the duergar mind, after all.

Don't make my way to Upper much, as rothe licking, beardless, clanless excuses for surface dwarves like Pvt. Sten walk the beat and defile the streets the underdark with their very presence. Send all letters to the Crone.

Let's talk prices in the near future.

KHALDAR

Khaldarl,

I am sorry to say that my suspicion has rung true. If I were to paint your portrait, I am afraid I would not be creating a piece of art that Sune would approve of.

True beauty is the correlation of good and comeliness within and on the surface. Though I suppose your gray skin might lend itself to an exotic appeal, unless your soul is one comfortable and accepted among the Morndinsamman, no amount of ink or paint in your image could ever be beautiful.

Best regards and a beautiful day to you, Senestia Avarscanti
