Throughout the Canal Ward

[These flyers are found around moderately trafficked points around the Canal Ward. They seem to have a professional quality about them.]

My friends the election is now upon us. With the recent Spellguard genocide I have attempted to send word to Sheriff Azzam to inform him that I will not stand for it. Would we dare live our lives, as free people, afraid of our own defenders?

The Sheriff has rejected my concerns with one of his cryptic responses, showing his dim intelligence and barbaric wit. I asked him if he would stand with justice or if he'd stand with genocidal murderers. He chose the murderers.

It has become evident now to us all that our once inspiring Sheriff has fallen into incompetence. I am sure you've heard the rumors. As your future Councilor I have taken the time to verify those rumors.

Azzam, though I would be loathed to call him the true Sheriff any longer, is a slave to a whore. She lounges around in her seductive outfits, and wiggles her taught bottom in front of his eye and he loses all control for rational reason. He spends his private time washing her feet with hot scented oils, using our tax coin to purchase her expensive jewelry - purchased from Kuo-Toa, the slaving fish people, no less - and neglects his duties.

It is time for a new Sheriff in Sanctuary. We have suffered through Sheriff Short. We suffered through his incompetence. Now our current Sheriff is on the verge of destroying the Watch, by stretching them to their limits, neglecting their needs in favor of his whore, and betraying our citizens for a sultry seductress.

I ask you citizens, vote for me. I will not stand for it.

Genocide is the targetting of ethnic, or racial groups y'idiot. Quit misusing words for your political propoganda, and stop spreading your slanderous, treasonous words. You're just a filthy agitator, trying to stir the people up into a murderous frenzy to support your stupid campaign.

We're tired of listening to your bull pucky!

*Salman takes a moment to shake the hands personally with only 20 people in the Ward before handing these out, with gentle suggestions that they share the gossip with friends. Most of the district likely continues to believe he wrote the original*

PATRIOTS! (GET IT RIGHT NEXT TIME)

I never wrote those words. You know who I am and what I believe. I'll tell it to your face if you don't believe me. They try to censor me, they arrest me again and again, but they fail to keep me silent because my will is free.

It's true I've sent a letter to Azzam, where I cussed and swore and generally blew up at him, you know that this is how I get, it stems from my passion to do what is right. It stems from how deeply I believe in Sanctuary, not for spite of him as a man. From what I know of him, he's as admirable as they come. I want Azzam to keep with the letter of the law and bring the Spellguard members to trial. If they truly believe they've done nothing wrong, let them defend themselves in court. He is reluctant to make the arrests and in his shoes I would be as well. We are already seeing new animatrons replacing watch jobs, defense orbs that could imprison or wipe out the entire city with the push of a button and also seen examples of willingness to use them. The Spellguard have become dangerously powerful and all of us know it. Still, we can not allow them to be above the law just because they hold the whip. I remember what it was like to be a slave, never again will I be ruled by the whip. Azzam will come to this too, and I am certain he will do the right thing.

I am not looking for heads to roll, I am looking for justice. The same justice that would be handed to me if I accidentally killed twenty people. All are equal in the eyes of the law.

Salman Faraday

Six were killed by the orbs, Faraday. It was hardly the 'mass murder' or 'genocide' you have claimed it to be. I wonder how you got this number, Faraday, just as I wonder why you were nowhere to be seen during this attack yet have so much to say about it. All but two of them to my knowledge were returned to life by the good people who fought alongside them.

You are rambling on about a situation you have only heard rumours of, your sense of justice somehow fails you to aid the city when it is under attack, and you whine about how people die, in combat.

Unlike you faraday, I was there, and I helped defend the people. It was my storms of magical missiles that eventually brought the beast of a giant spider down, in conjunction with the gates. Plenty of warning was given, and though I myself was struck by this mechanism, do you hear me crying for the heads of the spellguard? No, you do not. The warning was clear, the precedent was set. We saw what the orbs did to the Unseelie, and all, including myself who were unwise enough to approach, paid the price.

People, do not vote for a man who complains about events that happen while he was likely enjoying a warm bath in upper. He was not present, he shed no blood along with the fallen. Had he actually been there, he would have seen that there was no murder, aside from that the unseelie commited.

Do not Vote for this man, whom misled words and beleifs are his only weapon to compensate for his inability to act. Vote for Rimferrin, someone who will actually participate in the defence of this city! None of the other candidates arrived to help. Why should you vote for those who do not care enough to defend you? Vote Rimferrin!

*this note is posted publicly for all to see in the Ward and otherwise*

Candidate Rimferrin,

I commend your service to the city in its time of need. There is no question that your willingness, as well as the willingness of countless citizens, to show up and defend the gates is the backbone that keeps our city safe. We the people rise to the occasion when called upon. I deeply regret being away on diplomatic mission at the time and was unaware of the attack until I returned. You'll not find a single person in the city that would deny my willingness to fight on the front lines of freedom. I can't thank you enough for holding the lines in my absence.

It is time however, to admit the whole story. Whether or not the orbs helped to defend the city, they also caused the death of people like you, who simply wanted to show up and defend their freedoms personally. These deaths, which I've heard to be nearer to twenty, were probably accidental, but still must be accounted for. To sweep them under the rug, or apply some manner of footnote to them is to deny the patriotism and sacrifice they showed that day. There will be a trial before this is all over, and if the councilor in question finds the Agent responsible innocent of any guilt, then the issue will be over. The laws have been breached, candidate, and what is the use of our government or its defense organizations if they do not adhere to the law? The Spellguard must be held to higher standards, not lower.

There is not a single person in this city who could have done what they did and not been put to trial. Had I activated the orbs myself, we all know that I'd be dead by now. They are trying to kill me anyway, for simply adhering to the letter of the law and for speaking my mind. We can not let them start to do anything they want, or they will own the city instead of the people owning them. Candidate, you are no enemy of mine and I would hope that you could put our differences aside to see that justice is obtained.

Salman Faraday

Faraday, I was -there-. There was no fault there aside from those who did not heed the VERY CLEAR warning, and the EXAMPLES of the gate's power of what happened to the Unseelie. Many were Struck, and in theend, the only casualties of the attack of the orbs, is some human harlot named Alani.

There was nowhere near twenty deaths, faraday. Trust someone who was there, not wild rumours you are basing your facts and inane speeches on.
