Hin Gypsies.

I'm looking to work towards organizing a troupe of gypsies of the halfling variety to come in and settle down in [Lower]-- Picture "clothes lines everywhere, half naked children running around hawking second-rate goods". This was a concept tossed around in the ICR channel by RwG, myself and others (originally started by Random_White_Guy and Scotty) and I'm hoping to get a few people together who are interested in this-- long term this could prove to have some rather interesting effects and RP opportunities. But only if I can get some willing subjects! ^_^

If this can work---

Conceptual backstory for the caravan (of course free and subject to change upon commentary);

A gypsy troupe from the surface who traveled with the seasons for trade and their typical nomadic existence, they were once much larger in numbers-- a caravan made up of a number of wagons and even more Hin. They were ambushed one evening as they slept in the center of their wagons under the stars by a group of attacking Drow. Most of the Hin woke in time and defended, some fell. The rest were overwhelmed, captured and brought into the Underdark through mostly magical means to be bought, sold and distributed through the Drow community. After some time they managed contact with eachother again and planned an escape (mostly dependent on the distractions of other slaves that the Hin tricked into becoming fodder to aid their escape). At this point, their numbers were even fewer and they roamed the Underdark.

Enter Santuary. ^_^ At this point low in numbers and weary.

~*~*~*~

Acceptable races; Hin, likely Lightfoot. Alignments: All Chaotic alignments All classes are welcome-- it would be nice to have a mix of classes, though paladins, druids and most clerics would have trouble. I expect that most would be followers of Brandobaris (N): Master of Stealth, the Irrepressible Scamp. Worshipers: Adventurers, bards, halflings, risk takers, rogues. Cleric Alignments: CN, N, NE, NG, LN. Domains: Halfling, Luck, Travel, Trickery. Favored Weapon: "Escape" (dagger).

Goals:

Settle [Lower] and just generally be chaotic-- though dealing now with the disruption of their nomadic lives and possibly growing restless. I hope to create some chaos and trouble with this, shake some lives and causing some slummy drama.

For clarification: New Dunwarren, was the idea me and Scotty had, since the Outer Gate was being dispelled, so Chaotic people could come in freely.

Thank you-- I couldn't remember where exactly it started. ^_^ *edits thread starter*

Esmeralda was a gypsy... She was fun.

I'd be up for it. I'll make another halfling bard, Side-Char though.

Thought they weren't dispelled yet. Last I heard the Spellguard was deliberating on weather to do so or not with Drin's information regarding it's a defensive advantage to defenders and the treaty of New Dunwarren being unified.

Or so they say! We all know the Spellguard don't listen to anyone but themselves.

Into the Styx Or so they say! We all know the Spellguard don't listen to anyone but themselves.
Anyone got a chaotic or evil character willing to try the wards out?

[first post edited for detail]

I am game for this. Lemme check the halfling deity list.

I would like to be a cleric of Cyrollalle or Urogalan.

LN or NG will be fine for either.

I am probably down for this. We going to push for a prelude?

Probably a halfling bard (And maybe rogue) of brandobaris.

Edit - Just made my test build, looks interesting and useful.

Edit x2 - Why new dunwarren? Why not lower in one of the abandoned buildings?

Relinquish Edit x2 - Why new dunwarren? Why not lower in one of the abandoned buildings?

Group consensus-- for the win.

And my character plan is rogue, perhaps with low levels of sorcery, follower of Brandobaris.

Edit:

Forgot to address the idea of a prelude. I think it would be a great deal of fun and a good opportunity to set up a more solid bit of backstory and character development.

I hope someone is interested in making some kind of "tank"

rouge

Your char is going to wear makeup? :P

Totally in. Ranger plz.

Personally i think lower would make more sence for a group like this. Then again the entire notion of a normadic tribe just settling down in the middle of a town in general seems a bit well off.

I can be in.

When create the char ?

All must have same cla (last) name ? -- GeneeKin --

- will be a rogue -

I'm naming mine just Sabrina. If we decide to have a "clan" last name I can just say it's my last name.

I think about now is time for the original poster to put it in prelude section.

Edit- When we going to do this?

Sorry, original poster was busy. ^_^

And whenever works best for all involved, honestly. I can usually make room in my schedule if need be. Only note is that the end of next week I may not be around.

I can do it anytime. Today works too.

I think I've been gone too long because I can't figure out the prelude thing anymore. I'm assuming it's either not on the forums anymore or I'm an unobservant idiot.

And if we can get the others to want to do it today, that works actually.

Oh, and if no one else wants to Tank, I can be a fighter. It's a bit of a change in the character, but I can keep the basics the same. I'd just have to change a bit.

Didn't notice, they got rid of the prelude forums. Guess it was just more of a hassle, I did notice people go on preludes and not even play their prelude character.

As for the get everyone together today, We can try that, but I really want to play now so me and you at least can do it.

Everyone else! Say when they can do it!

Lower was my original thought, so I do agree there. But why doesn't the idea make sense? They're in the Underdark, unfamiliar in all respects, much fewer in numbers (and strength, since most of their fighters would've been killed in the original fray most likely since they were most likely to've been guarding the caravan in the night and would've been the first responders). They might be willing to be antsy and more uncomfortable by living in the relative safety of a town rather than take too much of a risk in the rest of Underdark.

Does it make sense for us to get started ahead of them?

We can decide where we set up Ig (We have plenty of scouts to look around the town and decide)

Alright. So we'll be scouting out ahead (though I think that I will be going with 'fighter' for my character-- she'll just be 1. guarding against trouble and 2. serving -almost- as a self-appointed leader, basically). This works. It'll take me a little bit to get in and my character made so... meet in the intro room IG in about half an hour? Does this work for you?

Again: Others who are interested-- please post times (and time zones) when would work best for you to get this in full swing)

30 minutes is fine, Mines like an elder of the clan.

I'm in eastern daylight savings time. Weekdays any time past 3 PM but I duck out at 4:30 and come back on later at 6 PM.

I got a halfling bard frontliner ready to roll.

Anytime, anywhere, any...er..

Me and Dylana are on right now.

Eep!

I am interested with a secondary for now, though I don't know how well my times work. I am Pacific daylight savings time, so three hours difference from eastern time.

I will make a character and see if it works out. Fighter, but not a frontliner per se.

We have 2 "frontliners" Feel free to make a fighter/rogue flanker.

And this is a great concept. First day we've already done alot of silly things.

I think that people should also post their character here and anything they feel that the rest of the group should know about them from the get go(so it's not entirely fumbled about with that sort of thing). And we -should- come up with a clan name and some time where we can plan on getting everyone who's playing together so we can do some group stuff-- I was planning on having a meeting of sorts so they can talk about stuff and possibly pay homage to the dead and what have you.

Oh, and I think that my character and Sabrina should be played as twins, it would be interesting-- and we've already sort of told people as much. Just an idea.

Character-- Boippi, fighter. Frontliner-- tank. Playful with the occasional temper, flighty when circumstances allow for it, but serious and wise whenever the situation calls for it. She and Sabrina have always acted as 'leaders' of the gang. The pair of them were sent out ahead of everyone to scout out the location before everyone else came in.

Sabrina - Flanker with a sling, enjoyable to be around, usually doing something exciting.

I will be around in roughly seven hours, possibly one or two more. <_<;; Is this going to be a problem?

Guarantee you I won't be on.

Unless I decide to pull an all nighter, no way am I going to be around. I have a horrible day tomorrow. (the earliest I'm going to be around tomorrow will be 8pm est, daylight savings time)

Foppin: attention deficit blades-hin seeking to put some colour into the world.

I'm pulling out, sorry. It sounds like our playtimes are far too conflicting.

I'm not going to be around today through Sunday. Sorry!

GWFD and DylAyna, wondering where you've been?

Sugrin has to put up with Sabrina alone, Some help here!

I have been around but haven't seen anyone else on when I am playing so have been playing my main.

I will continue to keep my eyes out for the group, and if you see my main, Ichabod, on feel free to send a tell.

I'd like to remind anyone that made/is making a PC to potentially join up with the halfling community I am creating- It is appreciated to make a serious character not one that acts like a little child, I have seen many halflings that act like children, and would appreciate the stereotype to end.
