You might be able to pull this off through IG means, though you'll definitely need DM backing, a hidden alchemist lab or two, and ways the drugs might be useable by other PCs. What a hilarious twist, to replace the candy stand with some shadier 'candy' salesmen, and explain all that *expletive* repetitive moaning and scream in the ambiance.

So, a few rounds worth of stat bonuses, followed by crippling side effects? Taking another dose will hold off the side effects, but past the initial boost, Letting restorative potions remove the effects could be a way for this to be a 'rich man's pastime' as well as a poor man's respite, and lets not forget to make it 'relatively' cheap, to ensure more PCs might stumble upon it. 8)

This exists IG, but there are no NPC dealers (at least not normal "market-style" ones). And I doubt it can be found without DM help.

I certainly wouldn't be opposed to the above suggestion, though I wonder about the wisdom of that...

I don't know. I was thinking it'd be cool to have a consumable item that would make one's character hallucinate. Technically you'd be teleported to another goofy looking area for five minutes. while a copy of your character sits around in sanctuary or wherever he was when he ate it. that's possible, right?

The player is ported off to a dungeon where the char is leveled to 40, and can hack and slash through nasty monsters while picking up +10 loot. The real PC's body is left *subdued* in the place where he took the drugs and can be robbed or whatever, while the player is enjoying the dream world.

I had a character who worked for an NPC drug lord and was an addict himself a year or so ago (thank you, Calculor!), but since then I think it's become something that the DMs generally frown upon and are reluctant to include in the game.

I had an idea to make a drug to addict lower a few months ago but it was quickly smashed to pieces when I asked DM's about it due to the fact people might take offence due to their stance on drugs. (backing scalebanes statement)

From what I recall, the general stance on this has been that while it could prove a worthy addition to the story of EfU, the RL implications make it a case of adding something that would do a little bit of good, but would also bring in a whole lot of 'bad'. I think a lot of people play this game to get away from RL problems for an hour or two, and it's unnecessary to add something like this to the game. It's pretty much the same stance people have on things like rape and sexual intercourse IG - they could certainly add levels of complexity to the story, but their inclusion would bring more problems than benefits. Personally, I tend to agree with this whole point.

Lol, so no on the drug idea then? I mean, I already have permission from the DMs to roleplay the drug-addict bard, Petey Sewle, who is annoying to even me at times, so I only log on when there's nothing going on and everyones bored and needs to pick on a druggie. But if anyone really takes THAT much offense to it then I suppose I can drop the whole thing together. As of now I have had no complaints about him OOC.
