Gnoll Cook quest, Add-PCs and more

First off, this quest was absolutely the bomb.com when it comes to style. Kudos to the DM who designed this little gem!

One thing that I think would be a nice touch would be the ability to add players to the quest by adding an invisible placable just inside the QA. PCs who did the pre-req. quest enter, talk to the placable, add a buddy or two.

Secondly, and mind you this was my first time ever to do this quest, but the loot was pretty pitiful considering the difficulty from room to room. Every room you faced a challenge that required another consumable. Or two.

So why not add some unique loot on this quest? Some special meats that provide bonuses when eaten, similar to the animal skulls that barbarians, druids, and rangers can use for various effects. Cool one-shot items are always a blast. A piece of burned flesh that has a one shot, low level combust ability or something.

And definately add an item called Harkuba's Skewer! A +1 vs elves, dim red light glow, -2 persuade, -2 bluff, +2 intimidate spear/trident. That would be awesome.

kkthx

Also DM's, please make this quest harder. It was too easy last time I did it.

>_>

I also found it rather easy... the payoff was about equal to the challenge, mind you.

The quest is awesome as is, but having the ability to invite others into it would be nice.

Easy, i did this quest once and got owned right at the end... We used a lot of consumables too, at the end i got jumped by about 5 of the big things... and died very quick as they do a lot of damage. I even had blur and barkskin on me.

I agree you should be able to add people to it, we had to get a dm to get a pc added to come save us all and even then he got killed too.

I could be wrong, but I think this is more or less an extension of the gnoll quest, therefore it wouldn't make sense to add PC's in the middle of a quest. If it was a separate quest, designed for other players to be added to your group, your group would not have to make the decision to take it or not, while in the QA.

I think it's balanced correctly for difficulty/treasure.

Can the option to add players to it be added though?

Actually, after running through this quest again, Secutor is right. Difficult/Reward seem on par.

Difficulty and reward do seem to correlate. But I think both should be increased in relation to the original gnoll quest!

I ran this again. Only one enemy struck me as immensely powerful, and it wasn't the final boss. Maybe it was just some lucky crits, but yea, those were some doozies.

Suggestion revoked.
