Letter to the Council

Councilors,

I have noticed that the law against summoning infernal beings no longer is on the list of our laws in the Town Hall. As we had a situation of just that right after the hanging of the half-drow, I would like to know when it was taken down and why.

Respectfully, Private Rodon Brinson

Private Brinson,

Such legislation was never passed. The council, lacking proper wizardly training, was unable to explain to the Sheriff the (accurate) identification of infernal items and creatures. The Sheriff, lacking proper wizardly training, would have been unable to explain such things to the dozens of Watchmen that would have to enforce the law. And finally, those Watchmen, lacking proper wizardly training, would have been unable to understand the explanation, and been unable to enforce the law (accurately) anyways.

We're sure such incidents are rare enough that when an infernalist clearly and actively endangers the city, that they are charged accordingly, or that the Watch carefully monitors the activities of potentially dangerous cults to prevent or punish wrongdoing.
