Poison on Bolts/arrows

(And I guess darts, shuriken and throwing axes, too!)

Make it possible to coat the tips of these with poison from spider venom, weak and the like.

Some may argue that it wouldn't be possible from an IC point of view to coat an entire quiver of 99 bolts, but with the current duration on the poisons you'll only be able to get 2-3 shots of anyway, which in my opinion is an amount you should be able to coat in little time without needing litres of poison.

I thought poisoning weapons was only for assassins?

This is already possible, unless it has been disabled on EFU very recently.

I used to do it all the time.

djspectre I thought poisoning weapons was only for assassins?

Assassins get the Feat "Poison Use", which means they are able to apply poison with no chance of poisoning themselves.

All other people have to roll a Dexterity check, failure causes the user to be poisoned, I think!

Can someone confirm that this definately works on arrows? I could have sworn I tried doing it, but it never worked. I could be crazy, of course.

I've used it on arrows. Also, failing the dexterity check is supposed to poison you but doesn't. I think it's an engine bug.

Perhaps its only a critical failure that it poisons you (roll of 1 on the dex check)?

If it adds poison to a single arrow only!

9lives If it adds poison to a single arrow only!
As compared to a 3+ foot long sword blade? Or has this been reserved for daggers alone? Someone already said the duration prevents getting many shots off, unless my inexperience with poisons means that 'a few' is really over the dozen mark, multi/rapid-shot feats aside. 8)

The poison added as an effect is only for one hit! For arrows it is one shot, miss or hit(If it isn't different from where I used it). Melee weapons it is when you land an attack(standerd NWN). The check to poison a weapon is determined by the players Dexterity. Assassins poison the weapon guarenteed without a roll.

Already possible.
