Due to the way Mage Armor is made to work now, if you have a Mage Armor up, and recieve a Divine ShieldingMAGIC VESTMENT spell, you effectively lose AC.
It's because both are scripted to apply directly to the clothing/armor worn, rather than to the PC itself, and when one is cast, the other overwrites it, as they both utilize the same item property.
This is not to suggest that they should stack, they should not. However, it seems more reasonable that Mage Armor, if it provides more AC than Divine ShieldingMAGIC VESTMENT, should take precedence, regardless of the order of spells cast. It does not
This is pretty much an unavoidable thing, and I don't expect it to be fixed. It is, however, important for people to realize so that they don't waste supplies. Hence, this post.
Divine Shield + Magic Vestment = suck
How odd. It is supposed to give Dodge AC, not Armor AC. :/ Snoteye??
The spell I used on him was actually Magic Vestment. +2 version, specifically.
Divine Shield should give dodge AC by default.
Magic vestment and mage armor do not stack. Divine shield was a typo made by Kotenku.
ffs the only cleric I've ever played was Gibbon.
They got it. Magic Vestment.
lol, monkey.
It may be possible to let Magic Vestment check for instances of Mage Armor and not apply itsel fif Magic Armor is active. Of course, that's not going to modify the duration of Mage Armor, so casting Magic Vestment right before Mage Armor runs out effectively results in an (armor) AC bonus of 0. I don't know if this is desired.
