Hey There,
Yesterday eveing myself and a party went throuh the Ettercap module - itis a tough one and think it is a great challenge.
One thing I did notice is that halfway thorugh there is a room with traps that set of Dispel Magic - it is annoying to loose your magical protections in this way but makes it a whole lot more challenging.
One thing the Dispel traps do as well is dispel the effects of poison - mine and another coupple of characters were poisoned and very weak and we were told to go back to the room trigger the traps and the effects would be removed.
Is it correct for dispel magic to be removing the physical effects of poisoning?
Cheers

You were told to step on dispel trap to be cured? That sounds so cheap to me. I gues it would be understandable if your poisoning was magical, but it depends. Nevertheless, I wouldn't really understand someone jumping on trap to get "cured"

It's only logical if the poison or disease are magical in nature. Otherwise, not really.

I doubt anybody OOC is an expert on the poisons of FR.
I think it's a fairly safe assumption that if a potion of dispel, or getting dispelled gets rid of the effects of the poison, then it's a magical poison.

It's fine to use the dispell traps in this way.

Yes, with the way it was placed in front of an altar, I just assumed the ettercaps used it in case they got poisoned themselves. Which they can be.

This is actually the exact reason dispel traps were removed from the arga quest. People didn't need buffs to get through that quest, so all the dispel trap did was serve as a cure blindness trap.
