I'm going to say all of this in a hypothetical sense so that no-one will be on to me.
By killing a merchant, would one gain all the items in the said merchant's store, assuming he/she survived, and had DM permission? Been doing some scheming I'm sure you can guess. Trust me, I'm not just gonna do this for the loot, If I do it at all. And If I do, there will be lots of plot stuff going on. With other PCs.

To increase your chances, I would definitely consider filling this out further with a DM. Generally, we put NPC merchants/stores with ever-lasting supply in the module for pretty specific purposes and to make available pretty specific things.

If this goes down I'd personally like to see a concept application detailing what you plan to do with it, so I know what we're getting into supporting a PC taken over shop.
