Many of you may have seen Councilor Jonathan Redd's recent announcement that he will be organizing Gladiatorial Events in Sanctuary. You may also have noticed he's mentioned the potential eventuality of the death of certain contestants.
When I first saw Councilor Redd, before he was Councilor, he came into the School of War during a tournament, boasting that he owned the Arena and musing on the possibility of battles to the death. He was ejected then for his disruptive behaviour, and he will be ejected against should he decide to continue on this path.
You see, Councilor Redd fully intends to have men fight and die before him in a display of the strength the gods have not seen fit to grant him. He is the same sort of bloodthirsty, cruel, and arrogant man as some of you may have seen patrolling the walls of Traensyr, or floating in the Sand Caverns. He acts less as a Councilor and more as a nobleman, with all the privilege of a Cormyrian surface society.
This is a call to all adventurers, whose lives are blessed and protected by Lurue: Reject the deathsport of Jonathan Redd. Do not fight to the death for sport. Do not waste strength, honour, and life for the amusement of such an arrogant dandy.
Sign your name below if you support the Abolition of Deathsport. Make it known to the other four Councilors, the ones with sense, that you will not see your friends, family, loved ones, and guardians felled needlessly for Bloody Redd's viewing pleasure. Make it known to the Sanctuary Watch that anyone taking a citizen's life outside of honourable execution is going to pay the price. Make it known to Councilor Redd, no more than the hirer of assassins and asphyxiator of farm fowl, that his sick games will not be allowed.
