Dear Order of the Spellguard,
My name is Frances Allegretti, Professor at the School of War, and I'm writing hopefully to clarify a matter of some contention regarding the actions of one of your Agents today. During a tournament held at the School he summoned in battle against me the visage of a Doom Knight, amongst other magics. He mentioned after the battle, when questioned, that he used flickering shards as a reagent. I'm familiar with this reagent myself and can vouch that he did in fact summon merely an illusion.
There are a few people who attended the tournament who were quite in a huff about the whole thing, but I hope you'll understand that their concerns are groundless. At any rate, and please don't let him see this, I really don't think he's powerful enough to summon a real Doom Knight.
