Sorceror Lewt

I'm not playing a sorceror and don't plan on it, so maybe that makes this suggestion more credible! Maybe...

MisterPAIN Speaking of sorcerers why are we talking about giving wizards more crap when sorcerers are nearly phased out in EfU.

I can't think of the last time I saw nice sorceror-only loot. Coupled with the fact that they will probably never see 5th circle spells (level 10 is a real bitch, and 9 is no easy task!), and that there's already considerable social stigmas against sorcerors (Spellguard is pretty much Wizard only, and sorcerors would have a hard time adjusting and there's really no alternative), I just think these cheery little Charisma-casters could use a boost!

My suggestion, in five words:

More sorceror-only loot, please!

One of my characters has a sorcerer robe that has a nice number of charges for a commonly used spell. Also, most wizard loot also can be used by sorcerers.

Unless you were giving items to boost CHA or extra spell slots EXCLUSIVELY for sorcerers, then I don't know how it would be different than it is now.

There are a few soceror-only items being sold by a certain mage in Sanctuary, but other then that I haven't seen much unique sorceror-only loot on the server.

I have to agree with Garem, we need more sorceror-only loot! :(

I don't mind. >.> Sorcerers are meant to be very rare, I'm not personally inclined to encourage people to play them.

It's not a matter of encouragement so much as its a matter of discouragement!

Sorcerors are rare, but on EfU, when they exist they are underpowered in comparison to the wizards.

Garem It's not a matter of encouragement so much as its a matter of discouragement!
Precisely.

We basically discussed this amongst all the DM's a week or so ago and decided it would just be best to reward well played sorcerors with neat loot. We would like them to be rare on EFU.

Melinda was a sorceror! With enough pwn, you can be murdered, too!

That bitch.

Werd.

I once had a well done, mostly fearless halfling sorcerer full of himself that in one instance meleed volts on the front and also enjoyed being immune to nibblin' rats being in piles of them beating them down in Mary's with his awesome 6-8 STR.

I had also recognized that there is the option of taking the abysmal amount of time saving 10000+ gold just to buy all the fancy crap that could be used by wizards anyway for a few points in spellcraft and a few level 1 extra spell slots. A lot of the time questing I was pretty much asked all the time by people who called me mage to buff their weapons, make them stronger, and protect them from evil(!) mind attacks while not being able to do it, facing the fact that I could just be doing the same crap as a wizard the entire experience. When I decided to start consolidating and limiting the amount of characters I play he eventually died, I simply declared "perma" everyone went "Awww..." and that was the end of him.

It it pretty obvious that anyone that played a sorcerer will just quit and roll a wizard for practicality and flexibility. Even if "sorcerers are rare", the chances of having someone skilled in wizardry, getting captured/brought up and living in a slaver situation long enough to escape in some kind of "lolol I hid my magic book and they didn't kill weak slaves!!1one!1eleven!!1" situation is just as rare I'd think. I must also state that as much as we like to keep-it-real, sorcerer is a base class and should be considered a part of still typical adventurers just like any other class. Also, the area of Dunwarren is a mystery and the city is full of mysterious energies that may cause a greater amount of "gifted" persons than the typical population of a surface city.

Assuming that someone will get DM attention after playing their sorcerer enough for being deemed well-played enough is silly considering most people quit very much before that point in development through IC interactions and adventures because of the mechanics.

Sorcerers loot is also hard to make I'm sure, Since they don't need spellslots, but rather spells themselves it can be hard to make items for them.

DangerousDan, posting spoilers in public threads will get you banned.

Otherwise, I think that small things for sorcs that are not that powerful might be good! Rare /= nonexistant, which is what they seem to be!
