A tenday message from the Hold:

Blessed be the name of Grumbar, Eternal Lord of Earth and Stone. People of Sanctuary, this past tenday we have seen more affliction presented by means of the Drow. Daily we face opposition to our very lives and existence, and each of us whether born here free or freed from slavery face many threats to our safe being, our way of life here, and our peace of mind.

The walls of stone which surround us, built from the strength of the earth as gifted to us by Grumbar have been instrumental in keeping us safe. The stone of the earth parted long ago and has made for us this large cave in which we find safety, the road in narrow, hidden, and not easily found. Though perhaps bleak, different, and distant from our past lives for those of us who may remember life outside of Sanctuary, this place is now our home, our haven, and our hallowed ground which we now defend.

We should remember to honor Grumbar for what He has given each of us. A means to provide for our safety and a new life here within His domain and under His ever watchful eye. Each of us has survived insurmountable odds and oppression, and are still here. What has made us different, that we remain free and alive, able to rebuild our lives and lost stability here. I would say that again The Lord of Earth and Stone has blessed each of us with a portion of His strength and will to stand against chaos as any boulder stands unmoved before a raging tempest, unburned before the all the fires that may spread over it, and unworried by a passing flood which flows around it. It stands because it, as we, have the will and strength of the Earth within us.

The proof of this is shown both in our lives and existence here in Sanctuary, standing firm against the tempests of the Drow, the fires and heat of war and slavery, and the passing floods of strife and trouble which pass over us. And yet we remain. For this tenday I would pose that each of us ponder on the inherent strength of will each of us carry, a gift from Grumbar from the earth within each of us—for as the body passes on it returns to the dust from which it sprang. Such matter is the earth within each of us, a true gift from Our Eternal Lord of Earth and Stone, for He watches over us. That His Earth is within us is proof of this.

May each of us ponder on these things, and thank Grumber for what he has given each of us. May we all walk well in this Earth.

Earthwalker Granard Rube, Priest of Grumbar and Initiate of the Hold.
