The very first quest, if you choose to start the game in the underdark instead of Sanctuary, is comprised of a lonely duergar who gives you a map. When you complete the quest by giving the map to the Seeker Hall's leader, he does not take the map from your inventory, but you are still requarded, and the journal updated.

Read the dialogue, you're told you can keep the map.

I read the journal and it said that he took the map when he clearly did not. Oh well.

Sounds like a typo. Has this been corrected?
