Councilors,
While all of you proclaim your desire to enhance trade and provide Dunwarren with those goods that will make its citizen's lives more comfortable, I expect that several problems plague your future courses.
Primarily, lack of non-hostile settlements. Our nearest land based settlements include the Mur, Traensyr, Ysinode, and Chazbash--none of whom make allies as useful as the Shadow Dragon that now holds Slaal'teesh and his own lair. Indeed, the geography of our position is tenuous. All trade comes through Slaal'teesh now, or the extremely precarious position of the Blue Mushroom traders.
What I propose is simple, I know the Dark Lake well and the settlements upon its shores. If the Council will fund it, I would prepare a team of merchants, explorers, and Councilary diplomats to travel to these cities and establish trade and treaty. None of these citys have held a elf, dwarf, or man of Dunwarren in bondage and thus there could be no objection morally to this venture.
In addition, this mission would also provide funds for the mapping of the Dark Lake which will serve the Council in any number of situations. I expect these services all once could have been handled by the Seekers, but sadly they are gone mostly from the city and something new must arise to aid the settlement.
I will discuss in greater detail this plan with any member of the Council.
