Letter for Westmore, at the Crone

Dear Mr. Westmore,

I'm willing to stake my reputation on the fact that they're merely trying to ruin yours. Please assure me that you're not working with the Spellguard, and I'll lend you all the support I can. This will not stand, this interference by the Spellguard will not stand.

-Frances Allegretti, Last Stand Inn

Allegretti,

On my honor as a Painbearer of Lord Ilmater, I am not working for the Spellguard, nor would I ever dream of doing so. The Spellguard institution is, unfortunately, corrupted and long ago fell from its once noble purpose.

Your support is appreciated, although I do not believe Lower to be so foolish as to fall for this absurd ploy of some unknown factor. I believe the Spellguard is doing this in retaliation, but I'm not entirely sure for what. The other possibility is that a yet unknown force is attempting to sow just enough dissent to support a renewed effort at causing as much damage as possible to Upper Sanctuary, specifically the Spellguard and the Watch. This is a most unwise action, as both factions need merely the slightest provocation and Lower will once again be assaulted by the aforementioned forces in order to protect themselves. I would much prefer the prior case to be true, as the solution is much simpler. Unfortunately, I am inclined to believe the latter proposition.

Thank you for your concern and support,

Painbearer of Lord Ilmater Protector of Lower Sanctuary
