[Nelas Shadowspring: Why Did I Buy This Thing Anyway?]

First Entry: Dark... Whatever.

This is stupid.

Why did I even buy this thing anyway?

Well, I guess I've got to write something in here. I didn't waste four gold for nothing... or did I? Oh, well, who cares? It's just money...

Today was the day I learnt that even though people may have lost everything, and be down as low as they can go, their pride will never be broken. I was sitting around today, minding my own business, when I heard a sending from Allivarn for a rothe-herd of people to come to the Last Stand. It didn't include me, so I just ignored it, although it did spark my curiosity for a while.

But that was before someone came running out of the Stand saying that Allivarn was planning to "takeover" the Lower Bazaar for his own business dealings. I think it was Jach, or someone - whatever, it's not important. Anyway, a bunch of people got all riled up, and I had a pretty great chat with Frances. Heh, she's probably the only sane one around here besides me. I even said so. Anyway, that's when Allivarn came through, and everyone headed to Lower to see how this would turn out.

I sort of ambled along behind, because I knew exactly what would happen, I just didn't know how it was going to come about. Heh, let's just say that someone as snotty and "high-class" as Fireheart trying to get his mitts on something that belongs to Lower would definitely not go in his favour. It's a wonder he didn't realise that earlier. Heh, stupid Fireheart.

Well, anyway, somehow I managed to get into the main group at the front of the deals, which suited me fine, because I was going to stay at the back anyway, ready to run when things got outta hand. Which thy were going to, Fireheart just didn't know it yet. And that's where I learnt my lesson for today.

At first the "negotiations" were cordial, just the usual "What the feck do you want, Fireheart?" and "Don't talk to me like that, Lower peasant!" sort of thing. But then, as things got more heated, I began to realise that, even if Fireheart had offered them a mountain of gold and himself tied to a stick in the middle of the Crone, they wouldn't give up the Bazaar.

Because, well, that's their land, and they love it, I guess.

Heh, Fireheart didn't take that very well, and started whining like a child born in Upper. Things got pretty heated, and that's when all hell broke loose. The bugbear that usually guards the Bazaar decided to hock a lugie into Clara's hair. That's when the "uh-oh" went off in my mind. I have a knack for knowing when hell's gonna break loose. And, true to tell, it did.

What happened after that was pretty much chaos. Clara got into a fight, and got absolutely smashed by the guard... I had no idea that guard was that tough, seriously... Allivarn was yelling at his entourage, who weren't listening, having little mini-arguments of their own... Kat, who was standing next to me, went back inside the Crone to serve... and basically me, Frances and Frank were left standing there, looking at this pack of headless chickens just run in circles, trying to make themselves heard.

That was, at least, until Clara started to cry.

I hate people crying, especially people I consider friends. I mean, this is the Underdark, so you don't see much of it, thank hellfire, but when she just stood there and cried, my heart kinda went out to her. I stepped up, and just helped her out a bit. The riot sort of broke up after that, and thank hellfire no one was seriously injured, especially all of those kids that had gathered to see what was going on. I swear, if even one of those kids was injured, I would of -

Well, yeah, anyway, I helped Clara get to Upper and clean up, gave her a grin and a friendly goodbye and pat on the back, and went on my way. I ran into Allivarn's nephew Eddie whilst I was guarding the entrance to the Stand Bathhouse. He's a surprisingly with-it guy, a lot better than his uncle, in my opinion. Had a little chat with him about the events above, then took my leave and went for a walk.

Well, after a little tiff involving the Hoarrans and their undead-who-just-never-seem-to-get-the-fact-that-once-you-kill-them-they-stay-dead, I ran into Gatts and a kobold called Kaz in the Crone. We had a little chat about random things, like Kaz's business enterprise, which sounds pretty good, and then I went on my way again, just looking for something to do.

Then I ran into Ingrid, and we managed to rustle up a group to deal with some portal to the surface. Didn't fool any of us for a second, but we got out and back to Sanctuary okay.

Didn't see Myria at all today. Was kinda put out, but I'll get over it, I guess.

So yeah, I guess that's about it for today. I'm out.
