Ingrid,
It is I, Maia, who writes you. Great problems beleaguer me. I can no longer continue my duty as Captain, and must now pass that responsibility on to you. I am glad to have found in you a Captain that shall be even better than I. You are what the men and the Company truly deserve, for you wish to, in fact, be Captain and do what you must.
By now I suppose you have been made Captain officially already. Arrangements shall be made so that my uniform can be given to you. Carry on my work, and make it your own.
I will retire for a long time, and immerse myself in meditation. There are things which I must figure out for myself, lest I shall cast my mind in the blinding fires of insanity.
One day, I might emerge from this ordeal with sure knowledge of what must be done. Then, all shall know the Truth.
