Thanks to the DM's a good end

Not sure if this be the best place to put this up. Just wanted to say thanks to the DM or DM's that where involved in letting my Helmite cleric take the hit from the Bugbear for Clara Fireheart. I've been on the verge of semi retiring the character for a wee while now and this event gives me a nice RP reason to dial him back. Basic premiss for anyone that knows Connar works as that the hit he took for his friend to try and save her life has left him weakened in his shield arm so as a warrior priest of Helm he can no longer preform his primery duty as a soilder. As such he is standing down his post and retiring as a warrior.

Thanks again to all the guys involved in the madness and especially to Joco's player. The fight thay had put the idea of the wound causing Connar long term pain to completion. The strain of fighting that mad angry halfling has broken the once mighty helmites strength leaving him to lay down his sword with his honour intact.

Cheers again guys

Sounds like a good way to go to me, and as you say, kudos to whichever DM honoured your request. It's so rare that people get to have a worthy end to their story, and rarer still to find some form of closure and peace in it. All too often things end in a great big anticlimax (lag/crash/lootgone/dead.).

^^.

I agree that getting a fitting ending to retire a character (not kill him off) is a great way to go.

I would imagine, many great adventurers would retire from such an injury also, instead of pushing on and dying. What's the good of being an adventurer if you don't get to tell others about your adventures?

Well done.
