[Lt. Mordis, Sultry Siren]

Don't worry Lt. Mordis. Have your drink. Men of resolution and virtue will take care of business and insure a viable economic outlet. Just try to be sober when we're done for the celebration, my dear!

If you'd rather have a rational discussion about the issue, then we can forego these immaturities and do so. If that is the case, then let me be the first to apologize for my previous comment. I'm sorry if my comment hurt your feelings.

Oh, and by the way, there is hardly an organization in the city who does not realize the necessity of clearing the Dark Canal of this menace. You might wish to speak to those that you respect most to determine the righteousness or unrighteousness of the cause before making bold claims and raising glasses. Perhaps you will convince them that you are indeed correct, and that I am a fool. If this is the case, then they will in turn inform me, and we can stop a terrible tragedy. But, as it were, I still believe I'm right and most of the city would agree. It is my challenge to you to prove it otherwise, not through rude public displays, but by shows of true logic and applied wisdom.

I hope to speak with you soon.

Painbearer of Lord Ilmater Protector of Lower Sanctuary

Dear Painbearer Westmore,

A woman of resolution and sound judgment already has the Unseelie situation well in hand, and your heroics are hardly necessary.

Let's pretend for a moment that you are somehow able to eradicate the Unseelie without provoking them into a protracted war for which this city is unprepared. The burden of the defense of the Dark Canal then falls upon the City of Sanctuary, rather than the dark fey. Who do you think will be paying those taxes? Certainly not you.

Those of us who actually live and work here are the ones who will pay the price for your recklessness. I will not have you raising armies among the workingmen of the Canal when no one in the city has even so much as registered a proper ship to sail, much less a star to steer it by.

The Unseelie will be brought under the control of the City of Sanctuary without your help. My largess with libation is entirely genuine; I raise my glass to anyone who has the sense to leave well enough alone. If you wish to speak, come drink with us.

Sincerely,

Lt. Ingrid Mordis Kenning Trades and Imports Port Lothor, City of Sanctuary
