Dear G'Dank,
I have picked up this letter on behalf off Dakul, My name is Snorri Gotrekson. I myself am a stoutheart iwill try to visit lower to speak with you and see what i can do to help you out of your current situation. If your needing in any new gear please forward me a note and i will see what i can arrange.
Your Brother,
Snorri Son of Gotrek Stoutheart Acolyte of the House of Light Flamebreath
G’dank,
I’ve spoken with your adjudicator, Wyric Crowshire, and he says that the only way to have your sentence reversed is to put the reputation of the clan on the line for you. Snorri speaks highly of you, and that means much to me. But if you were to break the law again, the clan would fall out of favor with the city. I’ll be up front with you and say that I will not further put the clan‘s reputation on the line, at least not until you can show you can be smarter than you’ve been.
As you’ve seen me write in my other correspondence, I think you’ve done nothing wrong. But to me, a lack of street smarts is the primary crime you’re guilty of here, and without some education you’re likely to again fall prey to all sorts of trouble that the clan would be hard pressed to get you out of. I’ve lived in Lower, traded in Lower, been in a few fights in Lower. Yet here I am. I think if you stay down there for a while you might actually learn a thing or two, not to mention picking up a few survival skills.
I know a great deal about our various religions, even more it seems than some blue cloak wearing holy rollers, and I would remind you of a bit of wisdom that I’m sure as a member of the clergy you are already aware. Moradin teaches that wisdom is derived from life and tempered with experience. Vergadain’s clergy have always taught me that enterprise and zeal are the finest qualities a dwarf can have. Brightmantle teaches us to learn a little of everything, for you never know what might be of use down the road. Clangedden teaches us to revel in the challenge of a good fight, and never waver in the face of adversity. These are all values we hold dearly in this clan. You must embrace them to be worthy of becoming one of us. Your being exiled to Lower is a good test of your ability to embrace these values, and it wouldn‘t surprise me if Moradin Himself had a hand in sending you there.
If such is not to your liking, you always have the option of joining the Mithralsouls. They are a prominent cloak wearing club for dwarves that is located in the Canal Ward. They let in just about any dwarf of less than average mettle and intelligence a few days after meeting them, so I‘m sure you could get in very quickly, everyone else can. At Clan Stoutheart not all dwarves are worthy just by the virtue of their being a dwarf, and in fact most don’t make it past being a Sonnilith. If you want to be a part of a clan that it is exceptional, then prove yourself to also be exceptional.
For right now I’d like you to report to Allivarn Fireheart on a project in Lower. We have a business and charitable venture with him that would yield the Clan some property for us to stay in and improve the clan‘s standing in Lower. Work with him and do anything reasonable that he requests. Your performance here will reflect upon your worthiness to enter the clan.
If you have need to speak with me, or advice of any kind, we can arrange a face to face meeting. I know a thing or two about this city that would help with your survival, and I’d share my knowledge if you would but ask for and accept my guidance. I can always meet you In Between to grant you various equipment and financial aid if you should need it.
Dakul Ironbeard Elder, Clan Stoutheart
Dakul Ironbeard As ye say in yer letter, Im guilty o being stupid. An i will work hard on learnin not te be so stupid in futuer. The fact that yer willin te give me a chance te show yer that I can lean is all I need. I think your right in what yer say About Moradin havin a hand in me bein here, And about , most o what yer writ about , The blue cloaks. Cos althogh they have been nothin but friednly towards me, i do get the sence that they do not tollerate, other races gladly, or ,anythin they think as bein Un-Dwarfish behaviour . An as yer allready know Moradin teaches us that while we should be respectin our own traditions an ways. we should also, accept that the different ways of others dont make the bad people. I will, as soon as i finished this letter be writin te Allivan Fireheart, te let him know where he can contact me. An I will follow all o his reasonable requests as if they were yer own. an I will show him that, Even The lowest an most foolish member O the Stoutheart Clan is worth workin with more than ten high rankin members o any other Clan. Your most obiedent servant G'dank Earthhammer son O(ect Ect) Cleric O Moradin
PS : I have included me letter To Mr Fireheart, as I dont know where he can be contacted, and would be glad if ter could forward it fer me G'dank
