Any concerns with the events that transpired can rest assured that due to sensitive real life situations that are a bit more realistic than we care to portray, these sorts of things won't happen in the future. This was actually my own doing. I would like to convey how sorry I am, and reassure everyone that the situation at the wedding was, by no means, an attempt to recreate real-life events. Having only found out about them soon after, I am shocked and appalled with myself, and have resolved to take a less active role in interacting with players at a dynamic and personal level. Instead, my focus will be shifting towards development.

If anyone feels particularly offended by the events at the wedding, I invite them to speak with me personally, and I will extend my personal apologies.

Though, Try not to destroy a wedding crash, maybe have Sune appear, but no more crashing weddings unless we have a chance to defeat evil!

I'm not sure what's being referred to here, but I enjoyed the chaos, but that is not to disrepsect anyone who apparently knows about some event that I don't know about.

The DM staff tried to make a fun event, I'm sorry if anyone was offended by my enjoyment.....but that was because I am ignorant.

Sounds like a delicate RL situation which we should not mess with. Ah, memories. I remember a wedding on Arabel when a horde of fey attacked and we utterly pwned them all, as all the most powerful people in the server were in attendance. Good times.

Any way . . . aside from the chaos afterwards and the people dying, and one perma-dying I think this is the perfect opritunity for some RP after . . . maybe somebody got deafened or lost part of their vision or has a fear of large gatherings now? The posibilities are endless!! :D :D

I didn't mean to discurage DMs interveining with player lives, but for the future, maybe something less . . . explosive? And perhaps not on a wedding that has already been interrupted before? Would have been better if say, just putting a knife to the child's throat, with out the suicide bomber. Maybe I just don't like the concept of using suicide bombers at this time, might be a little too close to home for alot of people.

P.S. This whole thing was -burning- me up :P

I agree. I personally have been attacked by men with swords, and do not at all appreciate it when steel wielding denizens of the underdark come at me with their attacks.

In all seriousness, ladies and gentlemen, this is a fantasy server, in a fictional game. It is an entirely optional experience, and it should not be expected that political correctness should have to dictate actions here. Of course, that's not to say that we should have rampantly offensive things occuring, however a server in which the DMs or even the players are discouraged from doing things for fear it might be too close to home, is not a place that sounds fun, to me at least.

If you are bothered by violence, then EfU is not for you. It is a violent environment. If that does not fit in with your idea of something that is fun, and not mentally scarring, then I suggest going somewhere where you may exercise a bit more control over the actions of others, or potentially without others.

Most weren't. What will probably just end up happening is selective DM'ing. Those that can't stand such things, will probably be exluded from such events.

This makes no sense to me. But nothing really does.

Confused myself. An event happened IG and there are complaints? Maybe next time have a private wedding. :lol: I'd hate to see DMs cutting back on IG surprise attacks/events just to avoid offending folks.

Confused more so now then last time...people were upset over ig things that happened only ig???, not because they hit close to home in the RL................IT IS NOT REAL, IT IS NOT REAL...at least that is what I keep telling myself, despite the recurring dreams, and time slips that I seem to keep haveing... I, too am giving up trying to understand this and returning to the GAME we all love so much. :shock:

Some people get cranky about DM interaction. I will just lock it and leave it at that.
