A letter to Wyric Crowshire and Andrew Deepingdale.

The exact same letter is delivered to both of their offices.

Greetings Councilor,

My name is Private Alyssara Nil'Vara. I have served the Watch faithfully, for nearly a year as a practitioner of the Art. When I entered the Watch, the Sheriff allowed me to practice it within unwarded areas for the pursuit of my duties. Spellguard Officer Barkely initially agreed as well, but recently he has revoked my ability to practice the Art, within unwarded areas, putting me in a precarious position. This prevents me from continuing my service to the best of my abilities within the Watch, unless one of two possible changes are made.

1. The law regarding unwarded spellcasting would have to be changed, to have an exclusive clause allowing members of the Watch to make use of the Art or call upon a deity for spells within unwarded areas, in pursuit of people performing illegal acts. The Sheriff has stated that I can continue my duties, if such is changed.

2. An alternative, is that Spellguard Officer Barkely has stated that if a small portion of the budget was allocated to the Spellguard specifically developing warded clothing for the Watch, each time a person joins the Watch who makes use of the Art, or is a priest of a deity who calls upon them for spells. It need not much be much, as it would be on an 'as needed' basis. Inquiries would have to be made regarding the general cost, but since a relatively low number would be needed, it cannot be too much. It would likely have to be clearly stated that they have a time limit from when a person is admitted to the Watch, to be set by the Council, for each warded item to be delivered, else such may never arrive.

Option 2, would perhaps be the best option, as it would solve all of the Spellguard's concerns regarding unwarded casting, by the Watch. However, if they change their minds, then Option 1 would be acceptable as well. I hope that the Council will give each option of my proposal due consideration, otherwise I will be unable to effectively continue serving within the Watch, as will any practitioners of the Art or priests who join in the future.

Sincerely, Private Alyssara Nil'Vara, Watch Wizard

This is already being discussed. It is my personal belief that the Spellguard should ward them without additional funding, as they beg for massive funding at every small turn. This will be dealt with immediately.
